Exposing the Congress’ diligent involvement in instigating the anti –CAA protests, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave befitting reply to Sonia Gandhi, who was shedding crocodile tears in support of the violent protestors. With Rahul Gandhi instigating violence by shamelessly alleging, “The CAB is an attempt by Modi-Shah Govt to ethnically cleanse the North East,” while Priyanka Gandhi sitting in protest at India Gate in solidarity with the violent mobs of Jamia, Gandhis have not even urged the mobs to shun violence. The Congress and its leaders have done everything possible to incite the mobs and terrorize the people of the country.
The CAB is a attempt by Modi-Shah Govt to ethnically cleanse the North East. It is a criminal attack on the North East, their way of life and the idea of India.

Lashing out at Sonia Gandhi, Sitharaman asked, “Does Smt. Sonia Gandhi’s politics completely rely on opportunism where she has one standard for herself and her party and different for others?” Sitharaman said “Sonia Gandhi and the Congress leadership as to what have they done to calm West Bengal and Delhi in particular.”
“The BJP rejects the press statement of Smt. Sonia Gandhi accusing the government of ‘unleashing assault on countrymen’. It is a statement which is irresponsible and motivated aiming at quick political gains,” Sitharaman said.
She reminded the Congress that “as a responsible Opposition party, it is incumbent on the Congress and Smt. Sonia Gandhi to call on all to maintain peace and calm and to ensure that the Congress party does not provoke violence.”
Sonia Gandhi had accused the BJP of seeking to divert people’s attention from its “failures” by creating “communal discord” and said that “suppression of youth and the students will prove to be the beginning of the end of Modi government.”
“What the party has actually done is to keep the perpetrators of mob violence during the anti-Sikh violence in Delhi next to their leader even as they speak about violence. This itself conveys the message of intending to provoke. Congress must remember that Citizenship (Amendment) Act is a law passed by both the Houses of Parliament,” she added. Sitharaman criticised Gandhi and said that she is shedding crocodile tears for students.
“Wasn’t it during the time of Indira Gandhi that the students of a Central University in Delhi were sent to Tihar Jail? Police had entered the University and one whole academic year had to be declared null and void,” Nirmala Sitharaman said.
Surprisingly on Monday, Priyanka Gandhi was protesting alongside Jagdish Tytler, the prime accused of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, he was also present in the protest ironically to show his solidarity towards the rioters. With Rahul Gandhi’s incitement and Priyanka sitting with Tytler, Congress has exposed itself and the communal agenda which drives the party. It must be noted that the party has still not condemned the violence or urged the Muslims to shun violence.
