‘Keep your opinion to yourself,’ Jamia ‘Shero’ Aysha Renna gets a taste of Communists’ intolerance

"Shero" with Delhi police, "Sorry" with Kerala communists

In what exposes the faultlines in the Islamist-Communist alliance, Aysha Renna, the newfound liberal “Shero” got heckled by Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), DFYI and other such activists at Kondotty in Malappuram on Saturday. She was invited to speak at a protest organised against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

While speaking at the protest, she said, “In the last two weeks, a number of students from Jamia Millia Islamia have been arrested and jailed by the Pinarayi Vijayan government and his police. We demand their immediate release.” This was enough to enrage the Communists who started heckling her for using Kerala CM, Pinarayi Vijayan’s name. In fact, the CPI (M) workers also held a protest against the Jamia Milia Islamia student, Aysha Renna on Sunday, demanding her apology for using the Kerala CM, Vijayan’s name.

The Jamia “Shero” had probably forgotten that she was in Kerala and not in Delhi. She was not supposed to speak her mind in the Communist ruled Kerala. In the video of the incident that has gone viral, agitated CPI (M) activists can be seen heckling her and forcing her to apologise. Aysha Renna tried to reason out with them and said, “What I said is my opinion.”

How could she even make this mistake of exercising free speech and expressing her opinion in a Communist ruled state! The Communists immediately retorted by telling her, “What opinion? You cannot say that opinion. Your own opinion should be told at your home, not here.”

There was no real threat to Aysha Renna’s free speech when she was leading the Jamia protests in Delhi where in some of the most provocative of slogans, including anti-India slogans were raised. Aysha Renna could emerge as the liberals’ “Shero” as there was complete freedom of speech when confronted with the Delhi Police. This was not the case in Kerala though where she got heckled and faced unprecedented Communist rage merely for taking Kerala CM, Vijayan’s name.

Aysha Renna has openly expressed solidarity for Yakub Memon and was crying on social media when Yakub Memon was hanged for his role in the 1993 Mumbai blasts which killed 257 people. Renna in a Facebook post apologised to Yakub as she claimed she was helpless in a fascist country.

Ladeeda and Aysha – the newfound liberal darlings have posted some really incendiary stuff in the past

With this the first fissures and cracks in the anti CAA “protests” have come to surface. In fact, the Islamist-Communist alliance could implode any time and this incident is just a small peek into the prospective implosion. There is an inherent conflict between Islamism and Communism. While for Aysha Renna, no law is a law except maybe the Sharia law, the dictator’s word is the last word for the Communists. The two ideologies can never be reconciled.

The ideas of free speech, liberalism and tolerance are a mere pretense for both the Communists and the Islamists. The real intent is to pursue their nefarious agenda and protecting self interest by ostensibly professing such ideals.
