Devdutt Pattanaik was flaunting his gyan on Twitter. TrueIndology destroyed him with undeniable facts

Pop Mythologist busted

Self-styled historian and ‘mythologist’, Devdutt Pattanaik seems to have grown a liking for frequent doses of bashing on social media. Whether it be the usage of ridiculous language towards women, or whether it be complete falsification of Indian history, Pattanaik has done it all. Presenting Indian history through a leftist frame, while claiming to be hell-bent against the western generalization of our heritage is a skill which Devdutt has honed over time. For this reason, he has struck a chord with the youth, who interpret history through Devdutt’s lens. What used to be a stronghold of Romila Thapar, Irfan Habib and Bipin Chandra till recent memory, has been successfully usurped by Devdutt Pattanaik.

In 2018, convicted cop Sanjiv Bhatt had opined on the subject of roads and attempted to glorify Sher Shah Suri as the pioneer of the road revolution in India. He had said that ‘Sher Shah Suri built a 2500 km long Grant Trunk Road without inauguration’. Of course, nobody was in the mood to believe this load of bunkum. @TrueIndology, a famous Twitter handle known to present accurate versions of Indian history and culture commented on the said tweet.

He revealed that it was in-fact mentioned in Magasthene’s ‘Indica’ that an 1800-km long road existed between the Hindukush and Pataliputra in present-day Bihar. Of course, Sanjiv Bhatt is no longer in a position to defend his statement, as he is nothing more than a convicted criminal currently placed in jail. Therefore, seeing a rebuttal to a tweet of one of his comrades, Devdutt Pattanaik thought it best to prove his intellectual supremacy over True Indology. As such, Pattanaik claimed that ‘self-hating’ Hindus, like those behind True Indology, find it more appropriate to quote Greek scriptures, rather than quote from the Vedas and other Indian scriptures. He further said that mention of such a road was first found in the Rig Veda and the Shatapatha Brahmana.

True Indology, in a swift stroke, took Devdutt to the cleaners. All such claims of Devdutt were absolutely false, TI stated, to quote from the tweet, it read:

Hello Golu,

You’re wrong on all counts.

1. There is NO mention of “Kuru Panchala” in Rigveda

2. NO mention of “Videha Madhava” in Rigveda.

3. The correct spelling is “Videgha Māthava”(विदेघ माथव) NOT “Madhava”.

Don’t try your dirty tricks here. You’ll be slapped with facts.

The handle, in subsequent tweets, also stated that as claimed by Devdutt, the fires of Agni did not travel from Sapta Sindhu through Kuru Panchaal, but in fact, travelled from Saraswati to Sadanira. As such, Devdutt Pattanaik was left embarrassed for making a fool out of himself while trying to flaunt his fake knowledge of Indian texts.

One would have expected a decent and civilized man to accept his folly and apologize for spreading fake news, however, Devdutt seems to be neither of the two. Having been thrashed right, left and centre, Pattanaik put out a sexual tweet, because that’s the only refuge he could have thought of, after being surrounded with a flurry of Twitter responses bashing him for his lack of knowledge.

These tweets too were acknowledged by True Indology, who gave a fair and square reply to the perversion of Pattanaik.

The tide has turned against Devdutt Pattanaik. His professional career hangs on the edge, after repeated revelations of his lack of knowledge and complete ignorance towards facts. His frustration towards anyone who has a better grasp over Indology is therefore only justified.
