‘Why this secrecy and fear?’ Such is the fear of BJP that the Sena-NCP-Cong are still hiding their MLAs

MLAs Hiding

In what comes as amusement is that the coalition of Sena-Congress-NCP has been afraid of the BJP and of their own MLAs that they would mingle with the saffron party as soon as they get released from the clutches of their respective parties and that is why even after forming the government, the coalition has still not released its MLAs and is still hiding them in hotels.

Taking a dig at the new Shiv Sena- NCP- Congress regime in Maharashtra, former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who resigned gracefully after it became clear the BJP didn’t have the number to form the government, tweeted a series of tweets saying that the first cabinet meeting of the new government discussed how to keep their new flock intact, instead of looking at policy matters.

“In the first Cabinet Meeting of new government, yesterday, they chose to discuss how to prove majority secretly, instead of discussing on how assistance and relief can be given to farmers suffering from unseasonal rains. If this government has majority, then why are they secretly calling the house?” the former Chief Minister tweeted.

“Why efforts to change the Pro-tem Speaker, going against the rules? Why still doubt your own MLAs so much? Why are they still hiding them?” Mr Fadnavis asked in multiple tweets.

Fadnavis has also asked when the BJP had declared that they would sit in the Opposition why is Shiv Sena still keeping its MLAs lodged in a hotel and hiding them.

“Why play hide-and-seek and be afraid when BJP has declared it will sit in the Opposition? When the alliance has claimed such a huge majority in the House why this hide-and-seek game, secrecy and fear? Maharashtra wants an answer.”

In spite of the fact that the BJP has rightfully accepted the opposition, it’s might has not failed to ‘haunt’ the Maha Vikas Aghadi and thus their MLAs still are playing the hide and seek game. The party leaders itself hold no faith in their MLAs.

The newly constituted Coalition has agreed upon administering the oath to only 6 cabinet ministers because the NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena are not sure whom to trust yet, hence forming a mini cabinet instead of obliging a huge number of leaders who are waiting for their turns to be provided with ministerial berths. The loosely- stitched coalition has organized a grand swearing-in ceremony to showcase its might on stage but has been apprehensive on the political to depict the same might on political fields where the BJP is the champion. Anyhow this fear of MLAs mingling with the BJP has to be let go for a better and transparent legislative process.
