The Wire had a massive short circuit immediately after the Ram Mandir verdict was announced

Clear cut case of contempt of court

The Wire, Wire

Leftist media portal, The Wire has gone completely haywire after the apex court ruled in favor of Ram lalla (legal entity). The 5 judge bench unanimously declared Hindu side as the winner of ‘title’ dispute, but using special power bestowed to Supreme Court under article 142, it gave 5 acre land to Muslims.

Since the apex ruled in favor of Hindus, The Wire published many articles in which it ‘questioned’ the judgment of Supreme Court and said that it is based on ‘glaring contradictions’.

In The Wire analysis of the judgment, the media portal published an article with the title ‘Supreme Court’s Ayodhya Verdict Rests on a Glaring Contradiction’. In the article, the writer argued that- “The bench ruled that Muslims failed to show they offered namaz and were in “exclusive possession” of the mosque from 1528 to 1857. Yet the Hindu plaintiffs, who also failed to show this, get the land on “balance of probabilities.”

Siddharth Varadarajan, the founding editor of the Wire, who has for decades, peddled agenda against ASI report and Mandir claims, was concerned about “the Future of the Republic” after “Supreme Court’s Ayodhya Judgment.”

In the article, he argued that “For more than a quarter of a century, ‘Ayodhya’ has served as a metaphor for the politics of revanchism– one which combines the deployment of a manufactured mythology around the figure of Rama, with mob violence, majoritarianism and a spectacular contempt for the rule of law.”

“The main beneficiaries of the Supreme Court’s verdict on Saturday are organically linked to the main accused in the crime of demolishing the mosque. And that’s not good for India,” he added.

In another article in which the media portal took the viewpoint of legal minds on the issue, in the subtitle, the portal said that it wants to get to the bottom of the legal aspects of the “contentious judgment”.

It also published article on the ‘conspirators’ of the Ayodhya with the title, “Ayodhya’s Class of 1992: The Key Conspirators,” in which it included Lal Krishna Advani, Rajiv Gandhi, Kalyan Singh, Vinay Katiyar, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, P.V. Narasimha Rao, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and VHP president Ashok Singhal in the same sequence.

It also published a specific article on L K Advani titled “The Provocateur in Chief – L.K. Advani” written by Kabir Agrawal in which the writer argues that “The violence that accompanied Advani’srathyatra and the incendiary speech he gave in December 1992 before the mosque was demolished are well documented.”

The portal also published the timeline of Babri mosque titled ‘Once there was a mosque’ and it is also concerned about the Babri Masjid demolition case.

The media portal published interview of ‘eminent historians’ D N Jha who has for long disputed the claim of Mandir. According to Jha, “Ayodhya Dispute Is a Battle Between Faith and Rationality” and “Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) shifted its stand on the issue and, thus helped the Sanghparivar foment a Hindu-Muslim conflict around the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid issue.”

Launched in May 2015, The Wire is one of the leading left-liberal media organizations in India. The media portal, run by many journalists who were employed in Rajya Sabha by Congress party, has only one agenda- to oppose the Hinduism and BJP.

Over the period of last four years, The Wire has become ‘lender of last resort’ for ‘irrelevant’ people ousted from mainstream media organizations. The old school journalists who were unofficial ‘Congress spokespersons’ during the UPA regime, are employed by the organization.

MK Venu, one of the three founders, was embroiled in the Niira Radia tapes controversy which came out in 2008-09. According to the tapes, he was among the alleged power brokers of the UPA government and a part of the government-corporate-media nexus. Despite his name in the controversy, MK Venu was roped in for the Rajya Sabha TV to host a show named ‘State of The Economy’.

There is Arfa Khanum Sherwani, Urmilesh Singh -ex employee of Rajya Sabha and then there is Karan Thapar or rather The Karan Thapar, a well-established member of Lutyens’ cabal who publishes interviews with eminent personalities for The Wire.

So, majority of the journalists at The Wire are part of ‘old establishment’ and have close association with governments of Congress party or Nehru-Gandhi family. They are united by ‘Anti-BJP’ ideology, like Pakistan establishment is based on ‘we are not India’ rhetoric, The Wire’s only motive is to oppose BJP.
