Sharad-Sonia take out Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s name from Shiv Sena alliance as Uddhav watches on meekly

Dear Bala Saheb, we are very sorry

Shiv Sena

The Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena coalition is currently involved in vigorous talks and discussions, in order for them to come up with a ‘common-minimum-programme’. With every passing day, the SS is insulted more and more. What is commendable of the Shiv Sena however, is that they are not letting their party ideology come in the way of these insults. They are readily being mocked on the internet for abandoning the legacy of Balasaheb Thackeray, and the Congress and SS are meanwhile ensuring that the party is converted into a ‘secular’ one.

The secularism of the Congress and NCP has quite high standards, so much so that they are very concerned about the name of their alliance being secular or not. For this very reason, the Congress and NCP have rejected the name suggested by Shiv Sena.

SS had earlier proposed this alliance to be named as ‘Maha-Shiv Aghadi’. Sources say that the word ‘Shiv’ irked the secular faction of this to-be alliance, and has therefore been dropped. The new name which has been thought out is ‘Maha-Vikas Aghadi’. The art of oxymoron’s, nobody does it better than the Congress.

Shiv Sena has lost its identity. Plain and simple. Lust for power has made them abandon a glorious legacy. Going by the moods of the NCP, it is very possible that Sena is being played with. ‘Shiv Sena’, the name would roughly translate into ‘Shivaji’s Sena’.

However, the party has quite easily forgotten its roots and decided to abandon even the legacy of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj which it claimed to be a custodian of.

Earlier, under pressure from the Congress, Uddhav Thackeray ‘postponed’ his Ayodhya visit. A party which till recent times has been a vociferous supporter of the Ram Mandir was suddenly seen accepting itinerary orders from the Congress. While nobody within the Shiv Sena is speaking against the unholy alliance which may be formed soon, Sena’s loyal supporters are surely disappointed beyond measure.

Apart from fleeing from ‘Hindutva‘, SS has also allegedly agreed to drop its demand of Bharat Ratna for Veer Savarkar. The levels one has to fall to in politics. This begs the question, was the Shiv Sena ever loyal to the Hindutva ideology that it claimed to be a flag bearer of? It has also now officially taken a pro-JNU rioter position now.

It is quite amusing to see the ‘secularization’ of Shiv Sena. It’s appropriation as a liberal party would be the next big milestone for the party, in order to please its new political masters.
