The gruesome and cold-blooded killing of former Hindu Mahasabha leader, Kamlesh Tiwari, has shocked the nation. According to a TOI report, the 45-year old was brutally murdered inside his house in the Khurshidbagh area of Naka Hindola of the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.

The Gujarat Police have arrested Shamim Pathan, Faizan Pathan & Mohsin Sheikh in connection to the murder. The three accused have confessed to the killing. Meanwhile, the murderers who carried out the deed, identified as Farid-ud-din Shaikh and Ashfak Shaikh, are still at large.

Five others including Maulana Anwarul Haq (West UP general secretary of Jamiat Shababul Islam, a Muslim organisation) who had announced a Rs 51 lakh reward for anyone who brings the head of Kamlesh Tiwari on Friday, December 4, 2015, four years back have been arrested by UP police.

It is being said that one of the perpetrators of the attack flew from Dubai to especially commit this gruesome killing.

Reports have said that the plot was being hatched for two months. Tiwari had ruffled the hornet’s nest of various Islamic Mullahs with his comments against Prophet Muhammad which came after Azam Khan had termed that RSS workers/karyakartas were Homosexuals.

Though there was massive condemnation for Tiwari’s statement from all quarters, the other so-called oppressed community took to streets in Ludhiana, Lucknow, Indore, Bengaluru, Bhopal, and various other cities demanding only one thing, which was that the Hindu Mahasabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari be dead, which at last happened. The killing if put blatantly is a communal one and no matter how much you try to be pliable by playing it down, the facts are for everyone to see, the names of the killers are for everyone to see.

The then Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi Party had slapped the National Security Act (NSA) on Tiwari and jailed him. Tiwari had got bail after being jailed for almost a year when the Allahabad HC in September 2016 quashed the NSA charges slapped against him. The timing of the murder which occurred merely two days after arguments in the Ram Janmabhoomi dispute was concluded in the highest court of law after a marathon 40-day hearing and the Muslim-side finally accepting their defeat, is an even greater cause of concern.
