The ‘intellectual’ circle of India has long been dominated by the left-liberal cabal. In 1960s and 70s, the group carried out a systematic ‘cleansing’ of right wing intellectuals from the RSS and other organisations of the Sangh Parivar, in collaboration with Indira Gandhi. Due to this cleansing and state dependence on higher educational institutions, the right wing has struggled to produce intellectuals with Vedic knowledge like K M Munshi, Jadnath Sarkar, and R C Majumdar in the last few decades.
Finally, Sangh Parivar has decided to bridge this deficit, and a Vedic university will be opened for this purpose. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a member body of Sangh Pariwar umbrella is set to open a university in Gurugram. This is the first institute of Higher Education promoted by a Sangh Pariwar affiliate. So far, the Hindu Nationalist organization was involved only in Primary and Secondary education. Viday Bharti, another affiliate body of RSS runs Saraswati Shishu Mandir and Ekal Vidyalayas.
The university, which will start offering courses by next academic year, is named Ashok Singhal Ved Vigyan Evam Praudyogikee Vishwavidyalaya. The university will follow the ‘Vedic Methods’ of teaching, although, the subjects will be as modern as in any other university. Classes will be conducted under trees, and the campus will resonate with Vedic hymns.
“The campus will also resonate with Vedic hymns. Upanishads and extracts of ‘Gita’ shall be broadcast throughout the campus morning and evening through public address system,” said a junior functionary.
The 36.68 acre university campus in Gurugram will have a Vedic tower at center, and it will also have meditation hall, cow shelter hall, and Yujna shala.
The objective behind the university is to bring an intersectional platform of ancient Hindu wisdom and modern renaissance knowledge. “The objective is to pave the way to re-establish Bharat as a ‘Vishwaguru’ and create a common platform for modern scientists, technologists and traditional Vedic Pandits to generate a new and comprehensive stream of knowledge of Bharat,” said the functionary.
The Vedic University will follow the National Education Policy-2019, the much appreciated educational policy draft which is currently in the public domain for constructive criticism.
Previously, RSS decided to set up an ‘Army School’ through its Education Wing ‘Vidya Bharti’. The school will be operational from next year and will train children to become officers in the armed forces. Vidya Bharti, which runs more than 20,000 schools across the country, considers education as an artifice to educate the young generation according to Indian values and culture started the first school in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, in 1952 and now this school surely is in continuation of Siksha Bharti motives.
RSS has a very solid standing on ground, but the left-liberal intelligentsia has always accused the organization of having an ‘intellectual deficit’. The lack of representation in media and higher academia, has led to misinformation and disinformation about the formidable organization among the elite English speaking class.
It must be noted that over the past several decades, influential political outfits and media houses in the country have continuously slandered the RSS and have made many outrageous remarks about it. The RSS has been accused of promoting Hindu extremism and militancy without any cogent evidence. Several myths have been circulated by the left-liberal elite to defame it publicly and mislead the ordinary citizens of the country about its values. The new university in Gurugram will help the Sangh Parivar to counter the malicious propaganda of English speaking power circle of the Lutyen’s cabal.
