This is not journalism. This is treachery. Shekhar Gupta and Barkha ‘almost’ suggest retaliation options to Pakistan

Recently a video has gone viral on social media, in which seasoned journalist Barkha Dutt has tried to explain as to what steps Pakistan can take further on the Kashmir issue. In a video published on YouTube channel Mojo Story, Barkha has talked about Pakistan’s next course of action on Kashmir considering its options are very limited. She has narrated as to how Pakistan could now resort to Pulwama styled attacks in order to stay relevant on the Kashmir issue.

Yes, you heard that right. Barkha Dutt is now almost suggesting some really innovative measures to our neighbour. Barkha Dutt’s prediction on how Pakistan is going to react now is almost a suggestion to Pakistan as to how they can create pressure on India through the ‘weapon of terrorism’. According to Barkha’s statement in the video, “As India continues to notch up diplomatic win after win when it comes to Jammu & Kashmir issue, Pakistan is left with just one option: to stoke another Pulwama-like attack within the Kashmir valley or, dare I say, a big, impactful terror attack elsewhere in the country.”

Naturally, many people vented out their anger against Barkha on social media. In fact, #ArrestBarkha was trending on Twitter. However, this is not the first occasion when Barkha has been accused of openly helping our enemies across the border. In 1999, when Kargil War was at its peak, Barkha Dutt allegedly revealed some details about the Indian troops which alerted the invading forces about the positions of the Indian troops, as well as their future plans. Due to this, India had a hard time in reclaiming the Tiger Hill.

This is not all. The way Barkha covered the 26/11 attacks, the handlers of the attacking terrorists sitting in Pakistan got alerted about the moves of our security forces, due to which we lost Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. In 2016, NDTV, where Barkha had earlier worked, covered Pathankot attacks in such a way that it almost jeopardized the lives of our men in uniform. It was due to this very reason that the Central Government banned NDTV’s broadcast for a day. If we speak less about Barkha’s ‘beloved comments’ on the atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits, the better.

But Barkha is not alone, who is openly assisting our enemies. The founder of ThePrint and another popular journalist Shekhar Gupta is also allegedly trying to assist our enemies through his acerbic statements and videos. Since there has been no major protest after the abrogation of Article 370, Shekhar Gupta has been growing impatient for one, which is clear in his current statements. To quote one such excerpt, “As a last option for Pakistan, it can only pray that there are massive protests in Kashmir and the ground situation in Kashmir goes out of control. Pakistan should now only hope and pray that there are large-scale protests in Kashmir, that people take to the streets and some security personnel lose their cool and fire.

Indian security forces firing on protestors to create a “Mini- Jalianwala” can be Pakistan’s best hope to further its interests in Kashmir and then exploiting the situation to get international attention over ‘Human Rights violation’. This should be the only way for a Pakistani strategist right now.”

The way Barkha Dutt and Shekhar Gupta have tried to provoke the Kashmir issue again is not only condemnable, but also unpardonable in any circumstance. If the government doesn’t act hard on them now, these opportunistic journalists might give an irreparable wound to India in the near future with their despicable acts.
