Many bigwigs of Bollywood have been implicated in Hyderabad’s multi-level QNET marketing scam case, the names range from superstar Shah Rukh Khan to Anil Kapoor who have been sent legal notices. Cyberabad Police has registered 38 cases and have arrested a total of 70 people connected to the QNET Scam. While the scam has dominated the local media after Cyberabad police released press notes, mainstream media seems to be observing an orchestrated silence.
According to local media reports, Cyberabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajnar reported on Tuesday that several cases were registered in various states against Vihaan Direct Selling Private Limited (QNET) and its promoters. In QNET scam case, the police sent notices to seek replies from actors Anil Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Vivek Oberoi, Pooja Hegde and Allu Sirish who participated in the events of the QNET company. Anil Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and Boman Irani have responded to the notice through their lawyers but police are still awaiting response from other stars. Apart from this, the police have issued notices to a total of 500 promoters in this case. Cyberabad police will study the responses of these Bollywood actors and take further action.

But the big question is, what is the QNET scam Which has taken some of the biggest stars of Bollywood in its wrap? QNET is an e-commerce based leading Asian direct selling company. The company markets high quality products in home care, personal care, skin care, health food supplements, watches and holiday packages. QNET operates through its sub-franchisees in India. A franchise of the QI Group called Vihan Qinet markets products. On this franchise, there are allegations of sending crores of rupees out of the country fraudulently. It is also alleged that QNet used to charge its customers Rs.1500 for products worth a mere 100 Rupees.
According to a report on MoneyLife, the case came to light when the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Consumer Affairs filed a petition against Vihaan Qinet, a franchisee of the QI Group. After this, a lookout notice was issued against many people, including Michael Ferreira, who won the World Billiards Championship four times.
Vihaan’s account books were inspected by the Registrar of Companies (ROC) Bangalore, which revealed the company’s malpractices. The ROC then filed a petition before the Bangalore Bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), stating that Vihaan Direct Selling violated the Companies Act-2013. After which the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has issued Lookout Circulars (LOCs) against 12 persons associated with the company and the process of shutting down Vihaan has also been initiated.
Police’s press note on this Scam
Cyberabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajnar stated in a press note that the promoters of QNET or Vihaan used to trick IT professionals, unemployed youth and homemakers by saying that there is a business project that would give them huge profits. They used to give motivational speeches to win the trust and loyalty of unsuspecting customers, who were, then convinced that this was indeed a good opportunity to earn money. Commissioner further stated that QNet had cheated crores of rupees in the name of multilevel marketing, and has its victims in the states of Delhi, Maharashtra and Karnataka. Those who are not associated with QNET directly but were using the money they received in investment have been accused of embezzling Rs 5,000 crore nationwide.
He further said that so far, in this case a total of 38 cases have been registered in which 70 people have been arrested and these cases were lodged in different police stations of Cyberabad area. The commissioner has appealed to the people to not join Qnet or pay any money to Vihaan.

These stars participated in the company’s programs. Bollywood stars have a reputation to maintain and responsibility towards the society. They must come out clean on this.

Some even went to the extent of saying that Dhoni is selling his nationalist image by joining the army to douse the fires of a corporate scam. Media must come out clean on this as well.
