Chairing a meeting of his Council of ministers, PM Modi has advised the ministers to refrain from making unnecessary remarks in the media and public and only stick with facts or claims which can be established. Along with advising the ministers in this regard, PM Modi also appealed that minister should avoid appointing their near and dear ones in advisory roles either in ministries or in other departments.
PM Modi is known for his disciplined working style and has, on a number of occasions, asked his colleagues in the parliament to execute their responsibilities in a more disciplined and punctual way. During the meet PM Modi also said that to improve governance there needs to be efficient co-ordination between Cabinet Ministers and ministers of state.
He also told the ministers to proactively engage with officials relatively lower in hierarchy such as joint secretaries, directors and deputy secretaries; so that these officials also feel they are part of the team.PM Modi also reiterated his calls for punctuality and appealed the ministers to reach their respective offices by 9:30, he also said there said some of them are still to heed to his instruction and they should start doing that.
BJP under PM Modi has been investing a lot of effort into training and inducting their elected representatives, earlier in a bid to further improve the working style of party MP’s the Bhartiya Janata Party it had organized a two-day training program. The two day training programme was also attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister and BJP President Amit Shah, BJP working President JP Nadda was also present for the same.
The MP’s were briefed about screening the issues in their constituencies and their redressal. The MP’s were also briefed about increasing Party’s and their own personal support base in their constituencies. Earlier in one of the parliamentary party meetings PM Modi had given a stern message to the law makers to abide by the roster and maintain attendance. PM Modi had also directed Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi to prepare daily reports regarding the attendance of MP’s and asked him to submit the same report every evening.
The last session of the Parliament witnessed high levels of productivity, be it the timely passage of bills or the functioning time of parliament, and now these recent comments by PM Modi are sure to further tighten any loose ends.
Nonetheless while other parties have been busy struggling to hold their political ground, under the leadership of PM Modi BJP has been on a good learning curve, where the party has used any untoward incident to take out lessons from it so that same mistakes are not repeated.PM Modi’s firm stand regarding professionalism and discipline and has on a number of occasions outlined that there is no room for underperformers in his council.
