The 2017 assembly elections in UP was a significant game-changer. The people of Uttar Pradesh sidelined all those political parties who were supporting the goons and elected the BJP with an overwhelming majority. Since the advent of the Yogi government, criminals are running from pillar to post to save their lives. In a latest series of police crackdowns in Noida and Greater Noida, nearly 450 people accused in cases of murder, loot, rape and robbery, have been arrested over a course of 15 days from July 20 to August 5.
According to a senior official, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police had on July 20 initiated “Criminals Out” campaign and enhanced security checks across the district.
Gautam Buddh Nagar Senior Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Krishna said, “During the 15-day drive, 448 criminals were arrested over cases of loot, dacoity, rape, murder, kidnapping, vehicle thefts, arms robbery, among others.” He further added, ” 38 cases of robbery and murder were worked out during the period.”
According to police data, a total of 71 accused were held in loot cases including cash, jewellery, vehicle, mobile phone and arms theft. The data also showed that 10 murder-accused were arrested, including two who were absconding in separate cases for six and 11 years, respectively.
The police data also showed that nineteen of those arrested were booked under the Gangsters Act, while two were held in dacoity cases, five in rape, two in dowry death and one for extortion. 21 others had reward on their arrest- Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 lakh and were successfully nabbed. 14 alleged criminals were also injured in police firing during encounters.
When the evil men from the society are eliminated, it’s the common people who have the sigh of relief. From constituting anti-romeo squads to keeping a check on the nefarious criminal activities on the basis level, CM Yogi Adityanath has done it all.
It has barely been 2 years since his governance and already UP is seeing unprecedented developments. Yogi Adityanath government recorded more than 3,000 encounters in which at least 78 criminals were gunned down. Moreover, around 7,043 criminals were arrested. In the same period, 11,981 criminals had their bail canceled and surrendered in courts. Such was the impressiveness of these statistics, the figure of encounters, the killing of criminals, and arrests had made it to a list of government achievements publicised on Republic Day in the state.
The Yogi government in its relentless pursuit to make UP a crime-free state has also passed UPCOCA bill which is designed to take down the mafia and other criminal activities within the state.
Enforcement has been the Yogi government’s strong pillar. He categorically stated that there would be no place for ‘goonda raj’ and corruption under his rule. This instance in Noida is just an example of how the policemen have been extremely vigilant in their duties, to make the city a safer place to live.
