Over the past few days, several reports of Indian security forces buildup in Kashmir region have been hitting the tickers, According to reports; The Union Home ministry had ordered deployment of 100 additional companies of paramilitary forces in Jammu and Kashmir, late night last Friday, followed by reports of government additional airlifting of 25,000 more troops on Thursday. This large scale mobilization of security forces had sparked a lot of speculations and concerns over conditions in the terror affected state. On Friday, Indian Army and the State police in a press conference had briefed media on the situation in Kashmir and pointed towards credible Intel reports of Pakistani terrorists planning to target annual Amaranth Yatra pilgrimage. The administration looking at the safety of pilgrims has also called off the Yatra and has asked the pilgrims to leave the state as soon as possible.
Following these developments several leaders form parties like National Conference and PDP have been trying to churn controversy around the movement of security personal in the valley by claiming that the said movement is a precursor to abrogation of article 35A, local and regional parties have always been opposed to abrogation of Article 35A and Article 370, which have been used a major wedge between Jammu and Kashmir and rest of India. However Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik, has clarified through a statement released by Raj Bhawan, after a delegation of politicians from the state had met him, that the state “has no knowledge of any changes to constitutional provisions”. These comments coming from the governor have drastically diminished the chances in this regard. However, presence of troops have surely sparked various speculations with many claiming that the government is moving for an endgame regarding the security situation in the region.
Today, the government also stated that the troop movement is not related to any impending changes in constitutional provisions. As such, many people speculated that since the government is ruling out trifurcation or abrogation of 35A, the integration of PoK might be the reason for enhanced and drastic measures.
With these developments, no possibilities can be ruled out; even rumors of possible strike by Indian forces to capture back Pakistan controlled regions of Indian state of Indian Jammu and Kashmir, which are used by Pakistani military establishment to train and breed terrorists, are live. Unconfirmed reports had also stated yesterday that Indian army had carried out cross-border raids in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Although looking at the prevailing conditions this moves seems highly unlikely however the possibility cannot be ruled out completely.
On Thursday MEA spokesperson had indicated towards repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the line of Control an International border. Reports had also emerged that Pakistan was again using these violations to help terrorists infiltrate into Indian side, nonetheless the India has been responding firmly to these violations.
“We feel that Pakistan, despite repeated reminders from our side, continues to resort to ceasefire violations and we told them to adhere to the 2003 ceasefire understanding for maintaining peace and tranquillity along the LoC and the international border,” Mr Raveesh Kumar, Spokesperson MEA said.

The massive deployment of forces, along with the Indian Army’s continued pressure against the Pak army across the LoC, suggest that India just might be taking the boldest step yet and might be moving in to re-integrate Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK).
