How do you know that a man has hit peak frustration phase? The answer to this seemingly simple question is quite complicated, but a man in peak frustration phase exhibits some visible signs of anxiety, irritability and general indifference to truth and logic. Let’s take an example – A group of employees of a corporation stop the vehicle of a top politician who recently got routed in an election and protest for their rights. The top politician snaps back at them and angrily tells them to protest before the politicians they voted for. This would qualify as a good example illustrating the peak frustration phase of the defeated politician. This example is doubly good because it is not a hypothetical one, the top politician happens to be The CM of Karnataka Shri HD Kumaraswamy, who recently snapped back at the protesting employees of Tungabhadra Valaya Hangami Karmikara Sangha and Hutti Gold Mines Staff Employees Union. In his own immortal words “Should I order police to lathi charge? You vote for Narendra Modi and expect me to solve your problem…You don’t deserve any respect”. Excellent! Let’s move on.
The ideologically diverse and opportunistically alike alliance of JDS and Congress are currently ruling Karnataka with incompetent Mr. Kumaraswamy as the CM. JDS legislators have no option but to follow the diktats of their leader supreme but my heart goes out for the elected legislators of the Congress party who have to maintain a brave face day in and day out and go about their work nonchalantly. The rewards of being led by a man in peak frustration phase are none and the pitfalls, many! The Congress legislators know that they are fighting for a losing cause and a for a man who has quite simply lost it. So, they have devised or probably are devising an excellent plan to wade out of this muck of uncertainty. The plan while excellent is fairly simple in execution and is known as ‘coup’ in political circles. Sections of MLAs from the Congress camp have said to become active and are plotting to overthrow the 13-month old JD(S)-Congress coalition regime. And the time that they have chosen is both auspicious and excellent. The Jyeshta – Ashadha maas is quite auspicious and the fact that HD Kumaraswamy is out on a US vacation to make is excellent.
Ballari district Congress MLA (Vijayanagara) Anand Singh called upon the Governor VR Vala’s time this afternoon to discuss reasons why he was keen to resign and is likely to submit his resignation to Speaker Ramesh Kumar, according to this ET Report. And Anand Singh is not the only one, the names of Ramesh Jharkiholi (Gokak), B.Nagendra (Ballari Rural), Mahesh Kumthahalli (Athani), JN Ganesh (Kampli) and BC Patil (Hirekerur) have also been doing rounds. Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy noticed that the carpet was being swept off from under him and he tweeted from the US that he was “observing the situation and that BJP’s attempt to destabilize the government would not work”.
If these MLAs succeed in pulling off a coup, the JDS-Cong government will topple. This is perfectly in line in BJP’s strategy of “won’t topple the government but won’t mind if some MLAs from JDS-Cong join us”. All will be clear in less than 24 hours.
