The MSM can play down Yogi’s role as much as it wants. The results will prove who the boss is

Critics of the current government and the opposition parties have made it their most favoured topic to condemn Yogi Adityanth and make predictions about the fall of BJP government at the hand of the UP CM. Unfortunately for them; the exit polls conducted by the major media organizations, after gauging the public reactions and surveying their opinions, convey an entirely different narrative. Neither has BJP fallen nor has Yogi Adityanth led the party to its downfall. If the exit polls are to be believed, the NDA is coming back in UP, with a thumping majority.

Examining the major exit polls this time, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India Today-Axis survey has given 65 seats to NDA, 2 seats to UPA and 13 to SP-BSP Mahagathbandhan. The Times Now-VMR gave 58 seats to NDA, 02 seats to UPA and 20 to SP-BSP Mahagathbandhan. India TV-CNX has given 50 seats to NDA, 2 seats to UPA and 28 seats to the SP-BSP Mahagathbandhan.

The Republic TV collaborated with CVoter as well as Jann ki Baat. The CVoter gave 38 seats to NDA, 2 to UPA and 40 to Mahagathbandhan. The Jann ki Baat was more generous towards NDA and gave it 46-57 seats while 2-4 seats go to Congress party and 21-32 to Mahagathbandhan. The News24 Chanakya gave 65 seats to NDA, 2 to UPA and 18 to Mahagathbandhan. The News 18-IPSOS gave 62 seats to NDA, 1 to UPA and 17 to Mahagathbandhan.

A close analysis of the data reveals that in spite of months of campaigning and even inducting Priyanka Gandhi Vadra into the political fold, the Congress will simply retain their family bastions, at a best-case scenario. Moreover, the Mahagathbandhan isn’t as formidable as they portrayed themselves to be, given that most exit polls have given them seats in the teen numbers, maximum going up till 20. This is a huge letdown for the SP-BSP cadre, given that Mayawati has big political ambitions of becoming the prime minister of the country. This seems to be quite unlikely with a mere 20 seats out of the 543 parliamentary constituencies, that too, after an alliance.

BJP has swept the state of UP, and much of the credit there goes to Yogi Adityanath. His ideology and views had been widely questioned and criticised by the media. The left-liberal cabal had been keen to write the BJP government off, attributing the causes to Yogi Adityanath. It was being said that Aditiyanath was purely focusing on the Hindutva narrative, and not on development which was being disliked by the citizens. However, the exit polls have portrayed a completely different reality. Yogi Adityanath has worked hard to campaign in the state. Apart from the electoral focus, the development in the state under him has been unprecedented. Relentless in his efforts to make UP a crime free state, his enforcement strategies have been the UP government’s strong pillar with nefarious criminal activities and corruption being kept a check on at the grass root level. Moreover, Yogi Adityanth has also done much for the education and health sectors in the state.

All those media organizations who were stating the Adityanath has not kept the people happy in the state and will certainly lose seats in the state are chewing their words now. Obviously, the people are extremely happy with their leader, and his popularity is now evident in the exit polls.
