On the eve of its two year anniversary, Republic Tv turned into Republic Media Network. All credit goes to the most flamboyant journalist of India, Arnab Goswami. His journey from a journalist on Times Now to being the shrewdest media baron is a story worth narrating. According to media reports, Republic Tv has bought back its share from Asianet News Media and Entertainment which held the largest stake in Republic Tv. It is promoted by Rajeev Chandrashekhar who is Member of Parliament (upper house) from BJP and represents the state of Karnataka.

According to media reports, the Republic Media Network is now on track to being a completely Editor controlled company after recent agreements by Arnab Goswami to buy back shares from investors like Asianet News Media, who in turn have made strong returns on their investment. In two years Republic TV has managed to create a leading English news brand and launched their Hindi news channel, Republic Bharat, recently which is among the top three news channel in the Hindi language.

Arnab Goswami launched Republic TV after quitting Times Now, with the help of Asianet Network which then took the largest stake in the Republic TV franchise. Rajeev Chandrashekhar said, “I am pleased with the growth and success of Republic and Arnab. I am happy to have invested in the vision of building a strong media-tech platform and brand. Republic becomes another successful brand amongst many that I have helped build.
