How PM Modi used Avengers reference to take a dig at Rahul Gandhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is evidently one of the most charismatic leaders in the world. His energetic speeches pull crowds from even the remotest corners in India out of their homes. His addresses on the All India Radio ‘Mann Ki Baat’ have been successful, not only in engaging people of every age, region or other but have also set an example by interacting with 1.3 billion Indians directly on a multitude of issues.

Continuing with his innovative and fresh style, in an interview given to Rajat Sharma, Editor-in-Chief and Chairman, India TV, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a peek into his tenure as the PM. In the interview, Narendra Modi has made some revelations into his routines, mindset and his relationship with some other political leaders coupled with deep insights into important policy decisions during his tenure.

Even Marvel’s latest spectacle, Avengers: Endgame also found a reference in his interview. Replying on allegations made by Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi said, “Sometimes I hear 1 lakh 30 thousand crore, sometime I hear 40 thousand Crore, sometime I heard 80 thousand Crore, he has quoted so many figures.” He further added, “I’ve heard that a film ‘Avengers’ is doing the rounds these days and that people from different planets are a part of that film,”

He also added, “The scriptwriter of the film ‘Avengers’ must have mentioned a number, specifying the size of the people all over the world, which seems to have leaked to him,” PM Narendra Modi said, as he responded to Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of selling out land worth crores to a businessman in Gujarat.

PM Modi also pointed out at the desperation of the opposition camp for relating the UNSC resolution to designate Masood Azhar as a global terrorist with the general elections.

On questions from the public, when asked  about his reaction to opposition leaders only focusing on removing him from the PM post, He said, “I am thankful to them, that they have created an agenda for the voters and have presented them with a choice; Whether to retain Modi or not, the second is to remove Modi, they don’t even know who to bring, they even don’t know why to remove Modi. On the other side the nation knows what Modi wants to remove, and in that which Modi wants to remove these people will not be able to escape.“

PM Modi, who is probably the most unfairly criticized politician in India, has again shown his firm resolve to debunk this politically motivated rhetoric, which is just used as unethical tools to mislead people. Congress, which has also been trying hard to churn a controversy around various issues from Balakot air strikes to the MMRCA Rafale deal, has been repeatedly snubbed by the voters for their meek attempts. Supported with the aid of its nexus with the ‘neutral’ media, Congress is trying to keep the issue alive; opposition camp has even gone to the lengths of alleging a conspiracy by the Government behind the cowardly Pulwama terror bombing. This general election is surely witnessing the opposition camp desperate to save political ground from the BJP and this interview just substantiates that desperation.
