On the NDTV show, speaking to the journalist about his upcoming biopic on PM Modi, he made a remark on Rahul Gandhi. When asked about whether he would agree to play Rahul Gandhi on screen, he said that if he (Rahul Gandhi) had done something worthwhile, then he wouldn’t have any problem in playing him. The audience applauded the humorous remark. The actor further stated that if he had to do a role based on Rahul Gandhi, he should book a ticket to Thailand. He said that he might have to shoot most of the film in Thailand.

The actor has been very vocal in shutting down major heavyweights. The actor had very well shut the biased assumptions of Rajdeep Sardesai. The journalist had cleverly moulded a political agenda to prove the actor’s upcoming movie as vote bank propaganda. Vivek Oberoi, in his answer very well put Rajdeep Sardesai at his place. He said that it was extremely unacceptable to put the piece of art as a method to fulfil political motives. Sardesai had argued that such movies would influence elections. Vivek Oberoi replied stating that in such a case Rajdeep Sardesai was a stronger medium to influence elections than a movie done by him. He further mentioned that if the ban on movie is necessary to not violate the code of conduct, the disappearance of journalist like Rajdeep Sardesai is also necessary to stop any affect that might be on elections.

Another incidence is that of the former actress turned politician Nagma Moranji, who has been heard recently speaking about and objecting to the release of the biopic on Modi. She questioned the actor saying “How can you release the movie just before elections?” Vivek Oberoi in a very assertive manner had replied to the politician by saying “Anybody who does anything professionally, are they ever asked by people, ‘Why now?’ So how can you? It is my sovereign right to make a film the way I want to, release it the way I want to, when I want to and it is the sovereign right of the viewers to watch it when they want to. How can you intervene? It is absolute rubbish. How can you even ask me that question?” The actor’s charming smile while answering the questions proved his easy going yet firm stand on his ideas about his work.

Vivek Oberoi will soon be seen on the big screen with the release of his new movie, PM Narendra Modi. The movie depicts the life of Prime Minister Modi and his struggle in life, politics and ideologies adopted, all set to be released on 12th April. However, Congress party and other major oppositions to the NDA government are fiercely protesting against the release of the film, demanding that it should be released after the Lok Sabha Election is conducted.
