In a recent development in the multiple voter IDs row in the national capital, BJP has alleged that Sunita Kejriwal, Arvind Kejriwal’s wife possesses three voter ID cards one for Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal each. These revelations come after AAP had also alleged that, BJP candidate from East Delhi, Gautam Gambhir possessed two voter ID cards.
Delhi BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana in a tweet sought Arvind Kejriwal’s reply on Sunita Kejriwal having three voter identity cards in 2013 before the assembly election that year. He tweeted, “Can u pls explain @ArvindKejriwal ji why ur wife Sunita Kejriwal is having 3 voter ids with her? 1 from Delhi, 1 from UP and 1 from Bengal. Before pointing finger on other first u should come clean.”

“I had complained to the Election Commission against Kejriwal for having three voter IDs for Sahibabad (UP), and Seemapuri and Hanuman Road (both Delhi) before Delhi assembly elections in November 2013. Kejriwal should answer this first,” Khurana said.
Harish Khurana has also questioned Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly holding 3 voter ID cards himself during the 2013 assembly elections. He tweeted, “What is ur take on this @ArvindKejriwal on this? On my complaint when u were caught with three I’d card I.e. Sahibabad, Seema Puri and New Delhi constituency. This is the same case with @GautamGambhir . Now u r giving some other angle. First u tell what was ur take on this?”

AAP candidate from East Delhi Atishi was fast to reap electoral steam from this controversy and had appealed to the voters not to “waste” their vote on Gautam Gambhir as he would eventually be disqualified, several other accounts of AAP supporters also reiterated the appeal.
Atishi tweeted, “My appeal to the citizens of East Delhi Lok Sabha – pls don’t waste your vote by voting for @GautamGambhir; he is going to get disqualified sooner or later for having two Voter ID cards! अपना वोट व्यर्थ ना करें! (don’t waste your vote)”

Atishi has also filed a criminal complaint against the BJP candidate from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir.
However, BJP Delhi Unit Chief Manoj Tiwari pointed out that the information furnished by Gautam Gambhir in his nomination papers was “true” and the AAP was “misleading” the media.
“There is nothing that endangers his candidature. The information furnished by him is true and nothing has been hidden,” he said.
These developments are sure to add more spice to the already hot general elections in Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party, after failing to secure an alliance with Congress, has been trying to polarize the electorate using several tactics. AAP’s focus to influence the voters to vote against Gautam Gambhir given this controversy seriously questions Arvind Kejriwal’s agenda, which seems solely aimed at transfer of votes. This is evident with his appeal on Twitter.
पूर्वी दिल्ली के सभी वोटर से मेरी अपील है कि गौतम गंभीर को वोट देकर अपना वोट व्यर्थ ना करें। https://t.co/gPDfn44O6c

Many observers also questioned the misleading nature of appeal by AAP candidate Atishi and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, which explicitly claimed that disqualification of Gautam Gambhir was certain.
Even if this allegation is true, this is relating to @GautamGambhir as a voter and not as a candidate. Stop telling lies!

Has EC outsourced its work to Aam Aadmi Party?
How can she misguide the voters by saying that @GautamGambhir is going to get disqualified? https://t.co/Mfw2q8IdEx— Rita 🇮🇳 (@RitaG74) April 26, 2019
