Chakravarthy Sulibele, Congress

On the occasion of Ugadhi (New Year), Vishnu Sahasranamam Parayana Yajna was organized in Poornapranjya Vidyapeetha, at Basavungudi, Bengaluru. Poornapranjya Samshodhana Mandhiram (PPSM) is a Brain Child of Pejawar seer, Sri Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji was started in 1990. A well-known social activist, writer and orator, Chakravarthy Sulibele, was invited for the Vishnu Sahasranamam Parayana Yajna, to talk on “Rashtra Dharma” in Bengaluru. As he was about to begin his speech on the Vidyapeeth premises, Congress workers gathered and started raising slogans in favour of Rahul Gandhi, Deccan Herald reported.

The organizers too intervened asserting that it was a prayer meet and requested supporters not to shout any slogan, but in vain. As Daijiworld reported, the situation turned tense at that time, the police intervened and controlled it.

Congress workers questioned Sulibele on committing a violation of election code of conduct by choosing to seek votes at the Vidyapeetha. He insisted that he was there to speak about the nation and not about any candidate. Soon after the incident, videos of the Congress workers interrupting the Vishnu Sahasranamam Yajna started circulating in the social media.

Chakravarthy Sulibele took to the Twitter and alleged that Congress workers came to the event created a ruckus interrupting his speech. He tweeted, ”Some congi goondas came to the program at Vidyapeetha today where I was speaking on ‘RashtraDharma’ and tried disturbing me. But none cared them! Listen carefully what he says. According to congress India n Modi are inseparable!! Losers!!”

After the event, an audio clip of a woman went viral on social media. The audio clip that got circulated in WhatsApp claimed that Congress workers attacked the people who gathered at the event. “Dharmis gathered at the Vishnu Sahasranamam Yajna event where Pejawar seer and Chakravarthy Sulibele were present. But to disrupt this Dharmika event, Congress workers came there with their party flags, attacked and abused the people gathered there. They also shouted “Rahul Gandhi Zindabad” and campaigned not to vote for BJP but to vote for Congress. When police came to control the situation, they started pelting stones on us and abused us”, said the lady in the audio.

However, Deccan Herald reported that when contacted, Chennammanakere Achukattu police denied allegations of assault on any individual.

This is not the first time Congress workers created a ruckus and resorted to hooliganism. In Tamil Nadu, Congress party workers attacked a group of photojournalists and media persons after they took pictures of empty chairs at a political rally in Tamil Nadu.
