Things are now turning from bad to worse for the Congress party. In a major expose conducted by popular news channel Republic TV, the Enforcement Directorate seems to have cracked the nexus behind the multi million AgustaWestland scam.
According to the ED supplementary chargesheet, as accessed by Republic TV, Christian Michel, one of the middlemen in this deal, now in custody of the Indian authorities, has revealed some startling details about this corrupt deal.
According to the findings of the ED, as mentioned in the Republic report, “As per the ED chargesheet, a copy of which is available with Republic TV – ED concludes that Christian Michel acknowledges knowing ‘Mrs. Gandhi’. Michel further reveals that he was in touch with ‘Mrs Gandhi’ and knew her since 1986-87.
Earlier, the investigating agencies had recovered hand-written diary notings detailing the alleged kickbacks paid for the 12 AW-101 AgustaWestland deal. These noting mentioned ‘FAM’, ‘AP’ among others – answers to which were unknown so far.”
However, continuous interrogation of Christian Michel has confirmed the hand of the Nehru Gandhi dynasty as well as their trusted aides, Ahmed Patel in this scam.
According to a dispatch, dated October 2009, “Meeting at the beginning of the week with regards to the Italian lady’s son. The gentleman confirmed that the son will be next Prime Minister and his power in the party is growing day by day. Hence, the Finance Minister’s extreme anxiety at the son’s phenomenal rise. The son will be asked this weekend to raise this matter with his mother as the mother is certainly not aware of all the facts”.

There is no doubt as to which mother son duo is being talked about here. However, according to the chargesheet, it is also learnt that some influential journalists from the notorious left liberal brigade have been found acting as middlemen in this entire VVIP chopper scam. Arnab Goswami, who conducted a show on the AgustaWestland scam, has been consistent on this revelation, and even though he didn’t take any names, he made sure that his voice was heard by the people guilty of embezzling the funds. It will be interesting to see who all are involved in this dirty deal, and it won’t be surprising if someone from the group of usual suspects turns out as one of the middlemen in this scam.
