Ravish Kumar exposes his double standards in an interview with Kanhaiya Kumar

Ravish Kumar, kanhaiya

Our self declared guardian of ‘authentic journalism’, Ravish Kumar, recently had an interview with the blue eyed boy of the left liberals, and the current CPI [M] candidate from Begusarai, Kanhaiya Kumar. Known for having his way with even the most powerful of all politicians within the country, one expected the journalist to ask some tough questions to the man, who oversaw the notorious ‘Tukde Tukde’ agitations in 2016 as the then JNUSU president.

However, a few minutes into the interview, and it turned out that the so called braveheart Ravish Kumar was no different from his more refined colleagues, who surprisingly became yes men when interviewing the members of the notorious Nehru Gandhi dynasty. One of the first questions that Ravish asked Kanhaiya was: When are you getting married?

Yes, let that sink in. All that Ravish Kumar had to begin with while interviewing Kanhaiya was this question. Contrary to his image, Ravish Kumar asked questions that sounded more hilarious than genuine. He even glorified Kanhaiya’s so called poverty and his relation with his father, even when according to the affidavit filed during the nominations, Kanhaiya earned way more than than an average middle class professional would do in an entire year.

Interestingly, Ravish was one of the select few journalists, who remained silent when Congress President Rahul Gandhi mocked ANI journalist Smita Prakash for interviewing PM Modi and labeled her as ‘pliable’. Despite the fact that Smita left nothing to chance while interviewing PM Modi, grilling him on the current issues with the nation, he neither supported her, nor defended her when Rahul insulted her publicly. Isn’t this the very double standards Ravish persistently claims to fight against?

This was not all. Kanhaiya Kumar was spared of the tough questions that would’ve exposed his actual personality. No questions were asked on his involvement with the ‘Tukde Tukde’ agitations of 2016, or his sexual harassment of a fellow JNU student way back in 2015, when she found him urinating in public. Despite Kanhaiya being found guilty of the crimes and being slapped with a fine of Rs. 3000, Ravish chose to conveniently ignore them.

However, this is not the first time that the NDTV journalist has laid bare his hypocrisy so shamelessly. During the Pulwama attacks, he was one of those shameless few who openly endorsed the vitriol spread over the martyrs by the Caravan magazine.

Ravish also ordered that media should not be covering the Indo Pak issue during the same attacks as it would help BJP to win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Fun fact, the self declared liberal was himself extremely intolerant towards a passerby in Delhi when he caught him violating traffic rules. The passerby was not only stalked, but also heckled by Ravish and his goons. Double standards much?

To be honest, Ravish’s mollycoddling of Kanhaiya Kumar is nothing new. It only exposes his hypocritical attitude towards the profession of journalism. However, unlike previous instances, the public is not so gullible that they’ll fall for his white lies. We hope he is given a fitting reception sooner than later.
