The Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi has a new twitter handle where he will be available from now on. The new twitter handle has the name @RGWayanadOffice. This account was made in September 2018 to facilitate the election campaign proceedings for Wayanad. It is clear that Rahul Gandhi had made all plans to run away from Amethi in 2018 itself.

The Congress president decided to follow the footsteps of his ancestors and selected a constituency in South India to contest elections. It was obvious that the Congress Party heavyweight was scared of facing the challenge in his family bastion Amethi. He had disappointed the people of Amethi, and knew in advance that his hold over the constituency is weak.
This new twitter handle is an addition to the many attempts that the party members and the President of Congress party himself have taken to woo the voters of Wayanad. It is evident that the Congress president had already made his mind to give up on Amethi. The competition for him grew stronger when the BJP leader Smriti Irani decided to contest against Rahul Gandhi. It is obvious that the ‘Shehzada’ of Congress Party felt threatened by the tough competition and chose Wayanad in hope of a face saver.
It is important to ask that why no account for Amethi exists as there is for Wayanad. The Congress party was aware of the fact that they were getting a good competition from BJP in Amethi by Smriti Irani. Amethi, therefore, should have been on priority for Congress, and such accounts should be made to reach to the people of Amethi before Wayanad.
It again brings us to the hypocrisy of the Congress Party which claims to be a central and non-discriminatory party. While the Congress Party President filled his nomination at the last moment from Amethi to save the ancestral legacy, he was sure to file a nomination from Wayanad. The unwanted attention and rumours created by the party on Rahul Gandhi’s nomination from Wayanad was just another public stunt by the Congress party.
The party has failed to impress the majority of the nation and now banks its vote on the minorities. The choice of Wayanad too, was made on the grounds that it was a constituency dominated by a particular minority Congress relies on for votes. The Congress party is now scared to face the majority. In order to impress the minority group that drives the major part of its vote bank, a new twitter handle has been developed. While the traditional seat of Amethi has been ignored, Congress President Rahul Gandhi is using social media to get support of minorities in Wayanad.
