PM Modi hits back at Mamata Banerjee in style

PM Modi has a unique trait of giving it back to his opponents in the most iconic way possible. After Mamata Banerjee insulted PM Modi by promising to send him Bengali sweets mixed with soil and pebbles that ‘shall break his teeth’, PM Modi replied in style at a rally in Sreerampur [Serampore] in West Bengal.

To quote an excerpt from his address at a public rally in Sreerampur, “Didi said she wants to give me rasgulla made of soil & pebbles. Soil of Bengal has essence of greats like Ramakrishna Paramhansa,Swami Vivekananda, JC Bose,Netaji, SP Mukherjee & if Modi gets rasgulla made of this holy soil then it will be a ‘prasad’ for Modi.”

For those unaware, PM Modi, in a candid interview with popular actor Akshay Kumar, had revealed that Mamata Banerjee, despite the political rivalry between the two parties, continued to be warm towards PM Modi and sent him kurtas and Bengali sweets every year. Aghast at such a warm attitude towards her, Mamata revealed her true self, saying that she’ll send PM Modi sweets made of soil, which shall be mixed with pebbles, so that his teeth are broken.

However, with his iconic reply at Sreerampur, PM Modi seemed to have hit two birds with one stone. Not only did he pay his respects to the icons of Bengal, he also hit back at Mamata’s continuous jibes without stooping low to her level. However, this was not all. The following comments by PM Modi served as the icing on the cake, as he referred to the cracks within the Trinamool Congress party:

“Didi, on May 23, the day of results, the lotus will bloom everywhere and your MLAs will leave you and run. Even today, Didi, 40 of your MLAs are in contact with me. Goons of TMC are trying their hardest to stop people from voting and attacking BJP workers, they are not letting BJP leaders campaign.  Earlier only Modi was abused, now even EVMs are. Opposition’s campaign revolves around abusing Modi. If you remove these abuses, nothing will be left. With a handful of seats, ‘Didi’ you cannot reach Delhi. Delhi is far away.”

Whether or not this is actually true is something only future can tell, but these statements have already created a massive hysteria within the ruling party in Bengal. TMC stalwart and ex quiz master Derek O’Brien cried hysterically that BJP was committing horse trading brazenly and that TMC shall complain to EC about the same.

This comes as no surprise, since TMC has flooded the EC department with their absurd complaints against BJP, which include something as innocuous as including popular WWE wrestler Dilip Singh Rana aka ‘The Great Khali’, even as their own goons continuously flout EC norms at whim. However, with his current statements, PM Modi has surely paid TMC back in the same coin. The race to win Bengal has now taken an extremely interesting turn.
