PM Modi promises constitutional safeguards to protect Hindu faith

PM Modi, Hindu, faith

Communist political parties in India have been in the hotspot for their disregard for Indian cultural traditions. Kerala which has been a communist political hold over the past few years has been seeing various attempts to desecrate ancient Hindu traditions in the state. Communist NGOs and civil society groups in the garb of progressiveness have been continually attacking centres of Hindu faith. The recent sequence of events in Sabarimala shrine in Kerala also reiterate the covert attempts by motivated groups to denigrate religious practices in the name of empowerment when thousands of women have clearly dissociated themselves from these meek ventures.

PM Modi has launched a scathing attack at this nexus that aims to degrade Hindu traditions, with many claiming that this nexus is aimed to aid religious conversions and gain political benefits. PM Modi addressing a rally has taken an aim at these groups and said, “Left, Congress, fake liberals, fake NGOs, fake civil society groups, Urban Naxals and ‘Tukde Tukde gang’ desperately want to make Kerala a laboratory for their mischief. Till BJP is there, they won’t succeed. Their force will never be able to destroy our faith!”

PM Modi also promised that the government will try to give constitutional safeguard to protect the Hindu faith. Attempts by communist leaning groups to undermine Indian traditions is not new. Since independence, these groups have taken the form of NGOs and civil society organization to legitimize their hidden agendas.

The left ecosystem, which was born with the advent of the Jawaharlal Nehru government in the 1950s, loaded with state patronage, have been systematically driving out opposing viewpoints from the social institutions. Academicians have been the biggest victim of this ‘organized genocide’ so much so that by 1990s, the presence of opposite views to the left were virtually non-existent in social institutions.

To reap political dividends of this organized overhaul, Left groups in the garb of NGOs and civil society have been repeatedly targeting Hindu faith to appease the minorities and further their communist ideology. A number of major religious sites have been on their list, which represent Indian dharmic traditions and culture. Sabarimala, which is one of the largest pilgrimage shrines in southern India attracts millions of devotees from all over India, who pay their respect to Lord Ayyappa. Undermining this strong institution by denigrating the traditional and cultural practices provides a way for left groups to covertly aid religious conversions, which have been rampant in the communist-ruled state of Kerala.

Noted economist Sanjeev Sanyal indicating the illegitimate dominance of left ideology had said, “The Left dominance over the intellectual establishment has its roots in the systematic ‘ethnic cleansing’ of all non-Left thinkers since the 1950s…the result of the systematic cleansing was that there were no non-Left academics remaining in the social sciences field in India by the early 1990s.”

Over the past few years, India has been experiencing a new current of ideas challenging the motivated Left narrative that was being peddled under the patronage of the past Congress governments. The anger of people in India, witnessing their religious sentiments being made a victim of this corrosive thinking has been resulting in continually decreasing relevance of Left political parties. PM Modi with his comments of providing constitutional protection to Indian Dharmic traditions has only reiterated what crores of Indian feel about this organized and systematic cultural denigration that has been taking place for decades.
