Senior Congress leader PC Chacko praises JKLF chief Yasin Malik

PC: New Indian Express

In a shocking turn of events, senior Congress leader PC Chacko praised JKLF chief Yasin Malik while taking pot shots at BJP leader Sadhvi Pragya Thakur. Chacko, in charge of Delhi Congress, has lauded Yasin Malik for showing courage. He further said that while Pragya Thakur can contest elections, Yasin Malik is asked to surrender at gunpoint at the name of separatism. He said, “One convicted, one accused Pragya Thakur can contest elections, how can Delhi Yasin Malik say to surrender at gunpoint at the name of separatism? Anyone who has self-esteem will respond similarly as Mr. Malik gave.” This statement came from the Congress leader about JKLF chief Yasin Malik, arrested in connection with the financing of separatists and militant groups in Jammu and Kashmir.

PC Chacko has praised Yasin Malik in order to attack Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, who is fighting the Lok Sabha election from Bhopal seat, saying that the courage shown by Yasin Malik should be appreciated.

Congress members are now blatantly supporting anti-national elements. They are making sympathetic statements and praising people like Yasin Malik for “courage”.

PC Chacko praised a terror funding accused by saying that none would take an attack on self-esteem as Yasin Malik did. He also said that it is a democracy and referring to central government as “New Delhi”, he said it cannot threaten anyone.

Congress leaders seem to forget that ideals of democracy do not include betraying the country and plotting terror activities against the nation. It is well known that Congress is banking on the minority votes, but stooping so low and supporting a terror funder is extremely disgraceful. Yasin Malik has been accused of terror funding and his party Jammu and Kashmir Liberation front has been banned by the Modi Government.

Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) is a separatist terror outfit that has made the beautiful Kashmir Valley into a living hell. Following the execution of their leader, Maqbool Bhat in the 1980s, the JKLF terrorists, led by Yasin Malik, unleashed mayhem, and by 1990, one of the worst cases of ethnic cleansing since the dreaded Holocaust had begun in Kashmir Valley. Lakhs of Kashmiri Hindus and Sikhs were maimed, killed, abducted, raped and forced to evict their homes. JKLF was also involved in the ghastly murder of IAF officers in Srinagar, as well as the kidnapping of Rubaiyya Sayyed, daughter of the then Home Minister and former J&K CM Mufti Muhammad Sayyed.

Congress has a weak stand in these Lok Sabha elections and its leaders are well aware of it. However, a party can still hold good reputation if not a seat in the parliament. Congress on the other hand it trying to ruin its legacy it holds in Indian politics. It is indeed sad to see a party which always boasted about its pre -independence roots is now outright supporting separatist group leaders.
