Massive infighting between Congress and its ally AIUDF

AIUDF, Assam

While poll battles take place across the nation, the Congress is fighting its own internal problems. The AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal has accused the Congress party of fielding candidates against AIUDF. The party chief has claimed that the Assam unit of the Congress party has thwarted a possible alliance.

The split in the anti-BJP votes for Congress is possible according to the AIUDF leader in seats of Karimganj,Barpeta abd Dhubri LS constituencies. He has also mentioned that Congress’ Muslim leaders felt threatened with AIUDF’s presence in the alliance. The politician also said that they saw their future finished with the AIUDF leaders contesting on the seats in Assam. Ajmal who is a two time Lok Sabha MP from Dhubri has accused the Congress of carrying intentions to finish the All India Democratic Front which was in alliance with UPA for the past 10 years.

The betrayed leader said “The sole motto of the Congress is to finish the AIUDF. The Muslim leadership of the Congress did not want the AIUDF and Congress to get united at all. If that happened, their political future would have been finished” The leader has further added that now Congress is its second major enemy and no matter what, the AIUDF party is confident to retain the three seats but with a smaller margin. He boasted about the work the party had done to promote Assamese culture, language and identity.

The Congress is playing at the edge. The party has not only disappointed the people of the nation but its own alliances as well. The party is turning all its friends into foes. This might leave it with no recourse but to lose the LS2019 elections with a great margin. The AIUDF is a pro minority party and the Congress is stealing their space as well. The AIUDF and its member have accused the Congress of doing nothing to connect to the majority groups. They are continuously banking on their minority card and upsetting both, the minority and the majority. It is totally ignoring the majority, putting no efforts to convince the majority to vote for them.

The decision of contesting from Wayanad is an obvious attempt to run away from facing the majority. The party is continuously breaking the trust of its allies and exploiting minorities for votes.  The party has broke a 10 year alliance and is fighting for Muslim votes with its allies. The rigidity towards its allies and the unfair treatment shows how hypocritical the Congress leaders are. It is the attitude of the Congress party that it still remains a minority vote seeking based party as mentioned by the 63 year old parliamentarian from AIUDF, Assam.

The Congress party, low on its factual data, has considered Indians as Bangladeshis. The party had considered the “Bengali speaking” Muslims as Bangladeshis which did not fall in good taste for the minorities.  The party has ruled the country for 70 years and has always made the minority as it voter base. Yet, the example of AIUDF shown that it is not even concerned about the minority anymore. The party has emerged as power hungry and opportunistic. The party is playing with emotions and vulnerabilities of the minority and running away from facing the majority.
