The National Trust Survey conducted by the CNBC-TV18  shows that Prime Minister Modi’s popularity has surged among the voters in the past three months. The survey was conducted across India had almost 31,621 respondents across the country. These also included 329 districts of the country and 334 parliamentary constituencies.

The CNBC-TV18 survey was conducted on various parameters which were framed as questions to be answered by the respondents. The survey was conducted from 2nd of March to 22nd of March. This spanned all the aspects represented in the elections. It also included the lines on which the voters would put their thought before voting.

The CNBC-TV18 survey lists out top 5 reasons why the BJP was successful in gearing its popularity. The PM candidature of Narendra Modi by the BJP was the top reason for the party grabbing a stronghold. The second reason for the increasing popularity was the work that the BJP had done for the poor in the country. This statistics also prove that the allegation by the opposition are not gaining traction. The country has embraced the party ideologies and thus it takes third place for reasons of popularity. The respondents feel that there is absolutely no alternative they could otherwise choose over Narendra Modi.

While the CNBC-TV18 survey shows the increasing graph of the BJP and higher popularity of Narendra Modi over the last three months, Congress took a deep dig. In January of 2019 the choice of Prime Minister was 26.9% for Rahul while it dipped down to 16.1 % in April 2019. On the other hand, PM Modi had a jump of almost 11% as a PM choice from 52% in Jan to 63 % in April 2019. This shows that there is no decrease of the public trust in its PM.

The CNBC-TV18 survey brings out the statistics that 15 states have assured the fact that BJP and the NDA collation are well equipped to tackle the various issues in India. It is a slap in the face of the opposition which blames the ruling party of not being able to understand the people of India and their problems.  The fun fact is that Congress under this context could only gather its support from 3 states, Punjab, Meghalaya and Mizoram. While in the rest of the states, mostly south, the regional party were chosen.

If failing as a PM candidate was not enough for the Congress leader, he chose to lose the trust even as a politician. The CNBC survey results show that while Narendra Modi is trusted by 71.1 % respondents compared to 67% in January, the trust of people in Rahul Gandhi decreased from 49% to 43.2%. An important aspect of the survey also included a section about Rafale.

There have been surveys conducted by other popular media houses that have also shown an increase in the popularity of PM Modi and his approved candidature to be the Prime Minister of the country once again.
