Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a tirade against PM Modi. He accused PM Modi of being a ‘habitual liar’ and claimed that the Korwa ordnance factory, which PM Modi inaugurated on Sunday.

The Congress chief on Twitter said, “Mr. Prime Minister, the foundation of Amethi’s ordnance factory was done by me in 2010. For the past several years, it has been producing small firearms.” He also asked, “You went to Amethi yesterday and once again lied as you are compelled by habit. Don’t you feel ashamed at all?”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday had launched 17 development projects at Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. These projects include an ordnance factory to manufacture AK 203 rifles, the latest version in Kalashnikov series with Russian collaboration.

PM Modi, later on, addressed a rally there. He said that the ordnance factory would help a lot to the local youths by creating lots of employment opportunities. In his address, he already busted the lies which are now being peddled by the Congress chief.

PM Modi in his speech had attacked the Congress government by highlighting the fact that the foundation stone was also laid for a factory to manufacture modern weapons in Amethi in 2007 but till 2010, the then government failed to decide what type of weapons would be manufactured in the factory.

He also said, “The previous government could not even decide what kind of weapon would be produced. Even construction of the building didn’t start until late 2013 when Lok Sabha elections were almost there.” The Congress chief only inaugurated the project and then left it incomplete. It seems that after laying the foundation stone he slept for nine years. A lesson for him here: Never leave projects incomplete. Completion is important. Stones are laid for many projects, but only a few of them become reality.

Firebrand BJP leader and Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani also nailed Rahul Gandhi’s lies on ordnance factory. She took the bull by its horns and exposed the lies of Rahul Gandhi. She tweeted a photo in which Rahul Gandhi can be seen present at an event where the inauguration of the project is taking place. The pic is of 2007, but the Congress chief claimed that he inaugurated the project in 2010.

She also asked Rahul Gandhi to shed some light as to what exactly happened with the Korwa Ordnance factory.

She also tweeted a photo of an institution whose foundation was laid by a Congress leader two decades, but later on, the Congress re-inaugurated the same project.

Earlier in her Facebook blog, Smriti Irani had ripped apart Rahul Gandhi, she rightly called him ‘India’s first post-truth politician.’

Rahul Gandhi is only doing the politics of lies and fake accusations. Given Rahul Gandhi’s irresponsible and condemnable conduct since the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and the manner in which Smriti Irani is working for the constituency, despite having lost the previous election, it is very likely that the people of Amethi may prefer Smriti Irani over the Congress President in the election to come.
