Sapna Chaudhary likely to join BJP

Sapna Chaudhary, BJP

In what could turn out to be a major embarrassment for the Grand Old Party and its ecosystem, it has been reported that former Big Boss contestant and renowned Haryana-based artist, Sapna Chaudhary is likely to join the BJP. As per latest updates, she might also campaign for the party for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Recently, a photograph of the former Big Boss contestant and Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari went viral on social media. The picture was reportedly clicked at a meeting between the senior BJP leader and Sapna Chaudhary. Now, speculation is rife that Manoj Tiwari might have played a big role in bringing her within the party fold.

This has created a rather embarrassing situation for the Rahul Gandhi led Congress. Only few days ago, former Big Boss contestant and renowned Haryanvi singer and dancer, Sapna Chaudhary had denied the reports of joining the Congress. As per ANI, she had said, “I have not joined the Congress party. The photograph with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is old. I am not going to campaign for any political party.” Her denial had come after the mainstream media including the AAP mouthpiece, Janta ka Reporter, had published a story in which it had claimed that she had joined the Congress. The AAP mouthpiece had further claimed that there were reports that she might be fielded against the BJP candidate for the Mathura Lok Sabha seat, Hema Malini. However, Janta ka Reporter was not the only one spreading this fake news. Noted journalist, Rohini Singh had also tweeted, “Sapna Chaudhary is a huge catch for the Congress. Much, much bigger than Gautam Gambhir for the BJP.” Therefore, she clearly and unambiguously suggested that the Haryana-based celebrity has joined the Congress.

However, the Congress has been left red faced not only because of media reports about Sapna Chaudhary joining the Congress have been proven false but also because senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Raj Babbar had gone on to welcome the Haryana-based artist into the Congress party fold. Raj Babbar also happens to be the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president. It creates a rather embarrassing situation for the grand old party where such a senior party leader’s statement turns out to be false.

It is clear that the Congress and its ecosystem is publicity-hungry and that may have led to such blatant circulation of a false report. The Grand Old Party is on the verge of political extinction and it is all about survival for the Rahul Gandhi led party from here on. But the false report of the Haryana-based celebrity having joined the Congress has clearly proven counter-productive for the grand old party.
