Sapna Chaudhary denies joining the Congress party

In a development that is bound to leave the grand old party led by the Gandhi scion red faced, former Big Boss contestant and renowned Haryanvi singer and dancer, Sapna Chaudhary has denied the reports of joining the Congress. As per ANI, she said, “I have not joined the Congress party. The photograph with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is old. I am not going to campaign for any political party.”

It must be noted that the mainstream media and especially the leftist outlets recently claimed that the popular Haryanvi singer and dancer had joined the Congress. AAP mouthpiece, Janta ka Reporter, published a story in which it claimed that she had joined the Congress. The AAP mouthpiece further claimed that there were reports that she might be fielded against BJP candidate for the Mathura Lok Sabha seat, Hema Malini. However, Janta ka Reporter was not the only one spreading this fake news. Noted journalist, Rohini Singh also tweeted, “Sapna Chaudhary is a huge catch for the Congress. Much, much bigger than Gautam Gambhir for the BJP.” Therefore, she clearly and unambiguously suggested that the Haryana-based celebrity has joined the Congress.

The false rumour of Sapna Chaudhary joining the Congress was spread not only by the media but also by a senior leader of the Rahul Gandhi led party. Raj Babbar, senior Congress leader amd Rajya Sabha MP, took to Twitter and welcomed Sapna Chaudhary for “joining” the Congress. It is shameful how a Congress leader also started spreading this false story. It seems that the Congress is desperate and publicity-hungery. As such, the grand old party can stoop to any extent in order to gain publicity.

It is shocking that Twitter also acted in the most irresponsible manner, despite being a leading microblogging platform and was also involved in spreading this fake news.

The mainstream media has clearly gone into election mode. It is clear that certain news traders are going to work for their political ideology and use the propaganda machinery to full effect. As far as Congress is concerned, it is as desperate as it could be. The party is on the verge of extinction in India and it is all about survival for the Rahul Gandhi led party. However, such naive attempts at gaining publicity will only prove to be counterproductive for Congress.
