PM Modi is all set to start the campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. He is going to sound the poll bugle from Meerut in the politically crucial state of Uttar Pradesh. PM Narendra Modi took to Twitter and stated, “Dear friends, Over the next few days, I would be travelling across the country seeking your support for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Today, I would be addressing rallies in Meerut (UP), Rudrapur (Uttarakhand) and Jammu (J&K).”

The Meerut rally will be PM Modi’s first public rally after the Election Commission announced the Lok Sabha election dates on March 10. The rally will be held in Daurala village of the Meerut district. The village falls under the Muzaffarnagar Parliamentary constituency. The Lok Sabha seat goes to polls on April 11 in the first phase itself. In 2014, the BJP had won from this seat for the first time in sixteen years. It is going to be a huge rally and a state BJP leader said, “We have been told that there would be a crowd of 5 lakh people and that this would be a mix of farmers, women, minorities, labourers etc.” Therefore, PM Modi is going to kick-off BJP election campaign with a bang. PM Modi is expected to focus on the game changer PM-KISAN scheme that provides a direct benefit transfer of Rs. 6,000 per annum to marginalised farmers. The leader also said, “The majority of MLAs and booth-level workers will also be present. The preparations are in full swing.”
PM Modi who is obviously the face of BJP’s election campaign is expected to address around 150 rallies throughout the Lok Sabha polls. Apart from this, party president Amit Shah also entered campaign mode even as he addressed a public rally in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The BJP has, therefore, started its campaign blitz even as the Lok Sabha elections are just a fortnight away.
PM Modi and party chief Amit Shah are the top campaigners for BJP. These two leaders are the ones who are expected to effectively inform voters about the achievements of the government in the last five years. PM Modi has kicked off his election campaign at the right time. Even as the Lok Sabha polls approach closer and we are set to witness a high voltage poll battle between the BJP and its opponents. BJP leadership seems to have readied itself for the poll battle that we are going to witness and this explains why PM Modi’s timing to sound the poll bugle.
