The 2019 Lok Sabha polls are around the corner and the BJP seems to be gearing up for it. It has been reported that the BJP is giving final touches to its election preparation. The BJP has kept an ambitious target for the upcoming polls. Having performed exceedingly well over the current tenure, the BJP seems confident of registering a comfortable victory in the upcoming elections. The party has coined a new slogan, ‘350 Mumkin Hai! (350 is possible!)’ The BJP is therefore seeking to register a historic victory which will vindicate the present government in a big way.
BJP President, Amit Shah has reportedly instructed all senior BJP leaders not to rest till Modi is sworn in as the Prime Minister once again. Finance minister, Arun Jaitley is in charge of publicity for the Parliamentary elections. He has been holding meetings with senior BJP leaders. Eight top ad agencies have also been roped in by the BJP. These agencies will communicate top achievements of the Modi government through various social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
Prime Minister Modi remains the face of the party. He is going to address 450 rallies during the election campaign. The BJP plans to disseminate 30-second video ads in PM Modi’s voice in eight Indian languages and 28 different dialects. The party will focus on digital media in order to communicate with its workers and voters in a big way. It has decided not to waste resources on printed material like pamphlets and booklets.
It has also been reported that the BJP has appointed Madison Media to handle its media account. The Sam Balsara-led Madison Media is the same agency which had helped the BJP, sweep the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. As per sources, it will create a media planning and buying strategy for the BJP for all mass media, including print, television and radio. BJP’s 2014 election campaign had turned out to be quite effective. Madison Media had come out with several innovative ideas that had helped the BJP in capturing the imagination of its voters.
Similarly, the BJP has also stuck with Ogilvy & Mather. It had come up with the ‘Ab ki baar Modi sarkaar’ slogan during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. It had turned out to be a very successful campaign slogan. The same ad agencies had also been the force behind BJP’s successful poll campaign in two states, Maharashtra and Haryana following the Lok Sabha polls victory of the BJP.
The BJP stands on even stronger footing in the run up to the 2019 Lok Sabha polls when compared to the 2014 polls. During the 2014 Parliamentary polls campaign the BJP had been able to project PM Modi as a strong candidate as against the previous UPA regime. BJP was relying heavily on the anti-incumbency factor going against the Congress. Throughout his tenure as the prime minister of the country, Modi has only strengthened his position. He has emerged as a statesman and a strong leader respected across the globe. The BJP has its historic achievements to project during the upcoming elections. The stakes are higher and the BJP seems all set to go into campaign mode.
