Gen VK Singh’s epic response to the opposition on proof of airstrikes

General VK Singh, airstrikes, opposition

(PC: india today)

At a time when the opposition is questioning the government over the airstrikes and the number of deaths in it, Minister of State (MoS) External Affairs General VK Singh gave a firm reply to all those nefarious intended parties drawing a mosquito analogy.

In his tweet, General VK Singh stated that there were lots of mosquitoes at 3:30 pm, so I used HIT. Now, should I count the number of mosquitoes killed or sleep comfortably?

General VK Singh went on to add, “Agli baar jab Bharat kuch kare toh mujhe lagta hai ki vipakshi jo ye prashna uthate hain, unko hawai jahaz ke neeche baandh ke le jayein, jab bomb chale toh vahan se dekh lein target, uske baad unko vahin par utar dein, uske baad vo gin le aur wapas aajayein (Whenever, the nation thinks of doing something like this again, the troubled opposition should be tied with jets so that they can see the bombing and later land them at the bombing site to count the dead bodies)”.

Earlier, the opposition led by Congress President Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of politicizing these air strikes. Going one step ahead, a few “prominent” leaders of Congress and other opposition parties including Kapil Sibal, Mamata Banerjee, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Digvijaya Singh, and Arvind Kejriwal raised doubts and questioned the IAF airstrikes. Congress leaders like Navjot Singh Sidhu and Digvijaya Singh shamelessly politicised the Balakot airstrikes.

While Digvijaya asked for the proof of the success of airstrikes carried out by the IAF, Navjot Singh Sidhu went a step further in politicising the grave issue and suggested that the airstrikes were unsuccessful and a mere election gimmick. Kapil Sibal was not far behind. He clearly made an attempt at politicising India’s fight against terror.

Mamata Banerjee had also expressed doubt over the results of the airstrikes that the IAF carried out in Pakistan. Not only that various media reports suggest that TMC IT cell and social media brigade is working overtime to translate and disseminate anti-India reports and lies peddled by international media and specifically Pakistani media.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the number of terrorists killed in the air strike by Indian Air Force on the training camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Pakistan’s Balakot would be known by “today or tomorrow”. While briefing the reporters after air strikes on Pakistan, the EAM ministry without giving an exact number said that “a very large number of JeM terrorists, senior commanders and jihadis were eliminated.” It is absolutely shameful that at a time when opposition should stand firmly with India, they are making unnecessary political remarks and giving fodder to Pakistani narrative.
