The BJP has planned to organise a rally of CM Yogi Adityanath in Purulia on Tuesday for which the UP chief minister would enter Bengal through Jharkhand. CM Yogi’s helicopter will land in Bokaro, Jharkhand & then he will go to Purulia in West Bengal by road to address a public rally there. The CM Yogi’s office also confirmed this news.

The Hindustan Times has quoted a senior BJP leader saying, “He could easily have taken a chopper till Purulia, which is adjacent to Bokaro but because of the Trinamool government’s decision to deny landing permission to him on Sunday, it has been decided that he would travel to West Bengal by road. Let’s see how what the terrified ‘didi’ does now.”

Asked, if Mamata government still tried to stop Yogi from entering Bengal, a senior BJP leader said, “Let her do whatever she wants. We aren’t complaining. By her acts, she is merely helping our cause of making BJP more popular in Bengal.”

On Sunday, after being denied landing permission in Bengal, CM Yogi Adityanath addressed the “Gantantra Bachao” (Save Democracy) rally in South Dinjapur telephonically. In his address CM Yogi lambasted Mamata government, he said, “This TMC government is anti-people and anti-democratic and has compromised with national security. This government is afraid of BJP as it very well knows its days in the state are numbered.” Yogi Adityanath advised West Bengal CM, “Mamata ji must accept that one should not misuse the administration in a democracy.” He further added, “The manner in which the administration in West Bengal is functioning should not be acceptable at all.”

He also said, “Days of anti-people TMC government in Bengal are numbered. They didn’t allow me to attend the rally but cannot stop my voice.”

According to ANI, Mritunjay Kumar, the Information Advisor to CM Yogi Adityanath said, “Ye UP CM ki lokpriyata ka hi asar hai ki Mamata Banerjee [West Bengal CM] ne helicopter landing ka permission tak nahi diya [It is because of UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s popularity that Mamata Banerjee even denied his helicopter from landing in West Bengal].”

Mohsin Raza, UP cabinet minister, rightly asked Mamata Banerjee, “How is the ‘khauf’ (fear)”.

The public rally by CM Yogi on Tuesday comes amid political drama that is going on in West Bengal. On Sunday night, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee began her high profile drama with an indefinite dharna in Kolkata alleging that a coup against her government is underway. Her police went to the extent of detaining eight CBI officials who had gone to question the Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar with matters regarding the chit fund scams
