Robert Vadra, the brother-in-law of Congress chief Rahul Gandhi as well as the husband of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, is being questioned by the ED in connection with a money laundering case. It has been alleged that Vadra purchased a property located at 12, Bryanston Square in London worth 1.9 million pounds as a benami property.

As per the Enforcement Directorate, the above said property was purchased by arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari for 1.9 million pounds and then sold in 2010 for the same amount. The property was sold at the same price despite incurring additional expenses to the tune of 65,900 pounds on the renovation of the property. The advocate representing ED said, “This gives credence to the fact that Bhandari was not the actual owner of the property but it was beneficially owned by Vadra who was incurring expenditure on the renovation of this property.”

As the husband of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was interrogated by the ED, the Congress ecosystem jumped into his defence. The usual suspect claimed that Vadra is innocent and offered absurd arguments to support their claims.

Disgraced journalist Rajdeep Sardesai ran a show in India Today channel claiming that the aforementioned properties in London are not registered in the name of Robert Vadra.

Well, a property purchased by an individual, not under his or her name is called Benami property. They are always registered in someone else’s name.

So, basically a deliberate twist was given in order to convince viewers that Vadra is not involved because his name did not pop up, he is innocent, and the ED is targeting him for no reasons.

It seems that either Rajdeep Sardesai considers his viewers to be complete fools or he is extremely ignorant. Every media house and journalist has their own political and ideological bias but one doesn’t have to be so stupid in projecting them.

In no time, Rajdeep ended up becoming a troll material on social media for his ignorance. The BJP MP Giriraj Singh took a jibe at Rajdeep. He ridiculed him by saying, “Benami means … Property should be in the name of acutual owner. Excellent ..Mr Benami spokesman.”

It’s not the first time that Rajdeep Sardesai has faced embarrassment for his biased journalism. In his 30 years long career in journalism, he has been confronted many times for his low-quality journalism. 2002 fame journalist, Rajdeep Sardesai, is the epitome of everything that is wrong with Indian journalism. He is biased, hypocrite, propagandist and poses to be a charlatan.

The case of money laundering against Vadra has come at a very bad time for Congress. With the 2019 Lok Sabha polls around the corner and Priyanka Vadra making an entry into active politics, allegations of murky land deals against Robert Vadra is the last thing that the Congress would have wanted. The grand old party faced a drubbing in 2014 due to such allegations, among various other reasons.
