Traveling without ticket is more of a mentality that a mindset in India. Often travellers ride trains without so much as getting a basic general ticket. Some even heckle passengers and ask them to ‘adjust’ for ‘local passengers’. Well The Railways Minister has issued a new musical warning to railway passengers to avoid ticketless travel and use Unreserved Ticketing system app or Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) to purchase tickets.
In their musical advert “Tera time aayega, bina ticket aaya hai tu pakda zaroor jaayega”, Inspired by the Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy’s chartbuster track, Indian Railways advises railway passengers to not travel ticketless in a groovy rap-style. The Railway Minister himself posted the video on Twitter, advising railway passengers to avoid ticketless travel and use Unreserved Ticketing system (UTS) app or Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) to purchase tickets. The video has been created by the Western Railway zone.

In the video it is being made clear that no matter how smart or cunning the traveller is, the TTE will look for him, find him and catch him. Indian Railways introduced the UTS facility for all non-suburban sections across all zonal railways, allowing unreserved train tickets even for long-distance travel. This facility enables railway passengers to avoid long queues to buy train tickets. Those who wish to book tickets through the UTS app, it is advisable to be around 25 to 30 metres away from the railway station. In order to curb ticket black-marketing and over-booking, the system does not permit to book more than four tickets at a time. The UTS app even allows passengers to purchase train tickets, platform tickets and monthly passes.

For a Railway Minister to send a message in a rockstar-like way is a feat in administration that needs to be praised. The Rail Minister wants to interact with the target audience in their own language and what’s better than a hit Bollywood number.
