Rahul Gandhi and his lies about the Rafale deal thoroughly exposed by the BJP

rahul gandhi, lies, rafale deal

Congress party is renowned for dynastic politics, corruption and dirty politics. Their president Rahul Gandhi is also known for his immature politics and dishonest campaigns about the ruling BJP. Rahul Gandhi has been caught lying on various occasions, but this has not stopped the Gandhi scion from peddling more lies and his shoot-and-scoot policy still continues.

The BJP on Friday called out Rahul Gandhi’s dirty politics and listed out 10 lies he peddled against the BJP on the Rafale deal amidst other lies:-

#1:

Rahul Gandhi had tried to twist a French media report saying that making Reliance an offsets partner was a tradeoff for Dassault to get the deal with India.

But the fact is that both the Hon’ble Supreme Court & the Dassault CEO said that the Indian government had nothing to do with the choice of the offsets partners.

#2:

When the matter was in the Hon’ble Supreme Court, Rahul Gandhi tried to deceive the masses by creating a false impression that the top court found serious irregularities with the Rafale deal.

However, the Supreme Court dismissed the petitions filed by the Congress proxies and cleared the government of any wrongdoing.

#3:

Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Modi government had ‘punished’ a senior official at the Ministry of Defence for submitting a dissent note on the Rafale deal.

But his lies were busted when the officer spoke to the media and categorically denied any kind of ‘punishment’.

#4:

The Congress president had said that former President of France, Francois Hollande claimed that the Indian government had asked to include Anil Ambani’s Reliance Defence as offset partner.

But Hollande dismissed such allegations and the French government issued an official statement.

#5:

Rahul Gandhi’s shameless tirade against the ruling BJP continued. His peddling of lies went up a notch as he even lied to the Parliament. Rahul, on the floor of the house, claimed that he had personally confirmed from the current French President Emanuel Macron that there was no non-disclosure clause on the deal.

But his lies got exposed as the French President issued a statement on the matter and refuted Rahul’s claim. The statement mentioned that the agreement prohibits parties from sharing classified information.

#6:

In course of various political campaigns and rallies, Rahul blatantly lied in front the masses on the Rafale deal. He quoted a different number of prices at different places for the supposed price of an aircraft in the UPA era. The prices he mentioned ranged from Rs. 520 crore to Rs. 526 crore. In some places, he quoted the price of an aircraft to be Rs. 540 crore and Rs. 700 crore.

#7:

The Congress president had also said the Modi government flouted the norms and procedures laid down for military acquisitions. However, the top court in its judgment dismissed all such allegations and were completely satisfied with the process.

#8:

From many months Rahul Gandhi failed to understand the difference between a bare bone aircraft and a complete operational aircraft. He said that the UPA government negotiated the price of a Rafale aircraft to be Rs. 526, 520, 540 crores (the figures varied from place to place). Whereas, he claimed that the price of an aircraft in the NDA deal is Rs. 1,600 crore.

The price negotiated by the Modi government is for a complete operational package including the aircraft. Rahul Gandhi fails to understand that a complete operational package includes weapons, spare parts, supporting infrastructure, logistical support & more.

#9:

Rahul alleged that the decision to procure 36 jets, instead of 126, was made for the profit of political “cronies” and the decision harmed the Indian Air Force.

The top court ruled that the decision was made in the interest of defensive preparedness in face of our adversaries’ scaling up their capabilities and the Indian Air Force is satisfied.

#10:

Recently, the Hindu claimed that the PMO was running a parallel negotiation on the Rafale deal while at the same time the Ministry of Defence (MoD) designated negotiation team was negotiating the terms of the contract. The report, citing a MoD note, that Prime Minister Office’s (PMO) interference undermined India’s standing in terms of negotiations. The MoD note was deliberately cropped.

However, according to the note accessed by the ANI, the then Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had addressed the concerns of MoD on the issue of PMO’s interference. Parrikar wrote on the margins of the same note that PMO and French PM’s offices were simply monitoring the deal which was necessary since the Rafale deal was of utmost importance.

It clearly seemed that Rahul Gandhi and his friends at The Hindu had selectively quoted the report and carefully cropped Parrikar’s remarks on the note.

Not long ago, Rahul Gandhi exposed himself in the eyes of the world of how low he can stoop to. Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar hit out at Rahul Gandhi after he claimed that Parrikar mentioned him that he had nothing to do with the deal. While on a short visit to see the CM, Rahul tried to score political points and dragged the ailing CM into his dirty politics.

These are only a few lies peddled by Rahul Gandhi and his allies (in the media). His lies and smear campaigns against Prime Minister Modi has only exposed that he is an immature politician. His failed leadership and childish behaviour have only made the BJP more powerful and this, among others, will also be one of the reasons for Congress’ defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
