When nation fumes against Pakistan, Congress indulges in politics

Pulwama, Congress, Pakistan

When the whole world condemns the cowardly act of violence carried out by terrorists in Pulwama, the Congress leaders have taken to Twitter to do what they do the best i.e. politicizing issues pertaining to national security. Many senior leaders of the Grand Old party joined the bandwagon to condemn and corner the Modi government.

Congress’ National Spokesperson, Jaiveer Shergill infused a political agenda into the heinous attack and took to Twitter to lash out against the NDA government adding, “All BJP leaders are busy asking “How’s the Josh”? Will they every have shame to answer the continuing onslaught on our National Security? Why BJP regime is proving to be bloodiest for our soldiers? Movie dialogues are not answers to families of our martyrs”.

On the same note, another Congress spokesperson, Randeep Surjewala also took a dig at the Modi government and said, “We strongly condemn this cowardly attack, we extend condolences to the kin of the jawans who were martyred. This is the 18th big terror attack in the last 5 years under this Modi Govt. When will the 56-inch chest reply?”

In another instance, former Union Minister of the Congress Party, Sushil Kumar Shinde claimed that Surgical Strike is the reason behind the atrocious attack and went on to add, “It is a very sad news. We condemn this attack but I say it again and again that BJP Govt/ Modi regime they cannot control Kashmir. These people talk about surgical strikes, they tell to the world about it because they can’t keep it a secret. And that’s why this is happening”.

Earlier castigating the attacks, United Nations (UN) in a statement said, “We strongly condemn today’s attack in J&K’s Pulwama. We express our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and to the people and Government of India. We wish a speedy recovery to injured and call for those behind the attack to be brought to justice”.

Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina too condemned the detestable act and added, “At this sad moment, we stand by the people and government of India. We offer was condolences to the members of the families who lost their dear ones. Our thoughts and prayers are speedy recovery of those who got injured”.

Although Pakistan chastised the attacks in a press release, a journalist from Pakistan, Taha Siddiqui questioned the intent of Imran Khan’s government and tweeted that instead of releasing such panicky statement to deflect attention; Pakistani should look within. Further urging Pakistan to stop terror funding of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), he went on to say that JeM was recently being promoted at a rally in Lahore.

It is shameful and unethical on the part of Congress’ leadership to politicize the attacks in Pulwama. Incidents like Siddhu hugging Imran Khan, Mani Shankar Aiyar asking Pakistan to help in overthrowing PM Modi and Digvijay Singh releasing 26/11 conspiracy book about RSS put questions over Congress’ moral authority to question the Modi government.
