Lashing out against the perpetrators of the dastardly attack in Pulwama, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he vows to make terrorists ‘pay heavy price’ for the same. PM Modi also added that defense forces are given a free hand to act and give a befitting reply to the terror outfits responsible for the attacks.

“People are eager to do something after the Pulwama attack and that is understandable. We have given our security forces a freehand and we believe that our forces can do the right thing,” the Prime Minister said.

Paying tribute to the martyrs in Pulwama attack, PM Modi added, “Our security forces have given full freedom. We have full faith in their bravery. The forces behind this act of terrorism and those responsible for it will be definitely punished”.

Requesting politicians from all the parties to not politicize the attack, Prime Minister said, “They deserve to criticize us, it is their right but I urge them that this time is precious, it does not matter is you are with us or in opposition but we all should stay away from politics right now and together we should fight for a common goal that is uprooting terrorism”.

Further, taking a jibe at Pakistan for Pulwama attack, PM stated that Pakistan is under financial stress and it thinks that these acts will derail India’s progress. “I should tell them that you can not hinder our path of development. Time has proven that the path they (Pakistan) have taken is of disaster and our path has led us to great success,” added PM Modi.

Earlier, today, the Cabinet Committee on Security in a meeting decided to withdraw the ‘Most Favoured Nation‘ (MFN) Status to Pakistan. At this point in time, the government appears in no mood to let Pakistan go away. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in an address to media after the meeting made it clear that those who carried out this attack will be made to pay a heavy price for the same. As per a source, “There could be also decision on scrapping the entire Kartarpur corridor. Military options will also be on the table.”

Arun Jaitley also added that the Government of India will initiate all possible diplomatic steps to ensure Pakistan’s “complete isolation” on the international forum. The Pulwama attacks call for stringent action not only against Pakistan but also against pro-Pakistan elements within India.
