The atrocious attack on the CRPF convoy in Awantipora, Pulwama has left the entire nation shell shocked. While the government has allowed the security forces to deal with the situation in the way they like, most of the masses in the country are vociferously backing the demand for punitive action against the Islamic terrorists behind the attack, particularly the terror outfit Jaish e Muhammad.
However, the left liberals, especially those associated with the ‘Aman ki Asha’ brigade had no qualms in supporting this dastardly attack in Pulwama. While some like Rana Ayyub felt aghast on the idea of the inevitable revenge, others like Navjot Singh Sidhu tried to exonerate Pakistan from the blame, while at the same time indirectly blaming BJP for these attacks.
To make matters worse, agencies like India Today and Scroll resorted to the same dirty tricks as used when dreaded terrorist Burhan Wani was slayed by the Indian armed forces.
However, not everyone took these insulting remarks lying down. Actress Kangana Ranaut, well known for her unapologetic attitude, came down hard on these left liberals. To quote her address to the media, “Pakistan has not only violated our nation’s security they have also attacked our dignity by openly threatening and humiliating us. We need to take decisive actions or else our silence will be misunderstood for our cowardice…”
Kangana further added, “……Bharat is bleeding today, the killing of our sons is like a dagger in our gut; anyone who lectures about non-violence and peace at this time should be painted black, put on a donkey and slapped by everyone on the streets.”
However, Kangana Ranaut didn’t just stop at that. After the Pulwama attack, she also called out at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi for their hypocrisy on this issue. On hearing of Shabana’s cancellation of her event in Pakistan, Kangana said, “People like Shabana Azmi calling for halt on cultural exchange — they are the ones who promote Bharat Tere Tukde Honge gangs… why did they organise an event in Karachi in the first place when Pakistani artistes have been banned after Uri attacks? And now they are trying to save face? The film industry is full of such anti-nationals who boost enemies’ morals in many ways, but right now is the time to focus on decisive actions… Pakistan ban is not the focus, Pakistan destruction is.” As of now, Kangana has cancelled the success bash of her movie ‘Manikarnika’.
Moreover, this is not the first time that Kangana Ranaut has been unequivocal in her views on nationalism. She has criticized the left liberals earlier as well for their contempt towards anything that is even remotely pro India. We are appreciative of Kangana’s gestures and we hope that others also feel inspired by the same.
