The government deports second group of illegal Rohingyas

Rohingyas, deported

Keeping up with the poll-promises, the BJP government in the centre has started the identification and subsequent deportation of the Rohingyas. The BJP, in the run-up to the 2014 elections, had promised that an identification drive would be undertaken to identify people living illegally in India and these people would be deported back to their country of origin. In this vein, the NRC exercise in Assam was started which has entered into its final phase. Similarly, the identification process of illegal Rohingyas was also started and many have already been identified and marked for deportation. Now, the government has begun the process of deportation.

According to Voice of America, the second group of at least 5 – 6 Rohingyas has been deported through the Moreh border in the Northeastern part of India, which divides India and Myanmar.

While the Central Governments of both India and Myanmar are quite clear on their stance on the deportation of the Rohingyas, the left liberals, are ready to shelter them even at the cost of national security.

Curiously, there has been scant coverage of the deportation by Indian media houses. While the Central Government looks committed to their promise of dealing firmly with Rohingyas, it also exposes the mainstream media’s priorities, which are clearly not pro India for sure. The fact that the media has chosen to ignore this major development in the Rohingya issue so callously does not spell right for Indian journalism.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that the Rohingyas have been deported. In October itself,  following strict orders from the Home Ministry, the first batch of 7 Rohingyas was deported. However, the way this recent development has been royally ignored by the mainstream media reeks of the vicious agenda that such journalists have peddled in favour of the illegal Rohingyas, now wreaking havoc in Kashmir valley.

Following the strict approach of the Central government with respect to the illegal refugees residing in Asom, the Home Ministry declared that Rohingyas are not welcome illegally and shall be duly deported back to Myanmar under proper supervision. It is on this note that 12 Rohingyas have been officially deported back.

To be honest, it is now the left liberals who are on back foot. Buoyant by the so-called respite to Congress in the recent Assembly elections of December 2018, all they’ve been reduced to is peddling lies in the favour of the party they so desperately want to come to back to power, be it on the Rafale deal, or The Accidental Prime Minister trailer. Moreover, they should now realize that they cannot hide the truth for long the way they did in Congress rule. Times have changed, and so will people.
