Rahul Gandhi quotes a misleading media report on HAL, Def. Min. Sitharaman exposes his lies again

The Congress party and Rahul Gandhi are spreading lie after lie in the Rafale fighter aircraft deal. In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi claimed “When you tell one lie, you need to keep spinning out more lies, to cover up the first one. In her eagerness to defend the PM’s Rafale lie, the RM lied to Parliament. Tomorrow, RM must place before Parliament documents showing 1 Lakh crore of Govt orders to HAL. Or resign.” The tweet was regarding a statement by defense minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Lok Sabha. She had said that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is in the process of getting contracts worth 1 lakh crore from Modi government.

The Times of India published a story in which it quoted HAL management saying that ‘not a single rupee of the said Rs 1 lakh crore has come to HAL’ and contested the claims from Nirmala Sitharaman. The ToI story also stated that “However, as the LS record shows, Sitharaman did not claim the orders were signed, saying they were in the works,” but Rahul Gandhi shared the part of the article which suited his interest in spreading misinformation.

Rahul Gandhi is not the only person responsible for spreading lies and misinformation, ToI is also responsible for this. The media organization published the story on the front page and highlighted the claims made by HAL employees through graphics and juxtaposed it with defense minister’s statement. However, the article did not highlight the fact that she had only said that ‘orders are in pipeline for HAL’.

The left-liberal media establishment collaborates with the opposition, mainly Congress which has nurtured and nourished it since the days of state monopoly over media and spreads ruckus. The state monopoly over media ended in last the few decades but the subservience of left-liberal media to Congress remains the same. Indian media is well known for sensationalizing issues. To attract more eyeballs, media organizations exaggerate everything and make sensational headlines. The people in the media still pursue fear and rumor-mongering on the direction of their political masters.

Similarly, the president of the oldest political party of the country and second largest political party in the parliament of the country should not be as ignorant as Rahul Gandhi is. He should have read the whole report rather than spreading misinformation. “Dear Shri @RahulGandhi , looks like you really need to start from ABCs. Someone like you who is hellbent on misleading the public will quote an article even before reading it,” tweeted Sitharaman office.

Rahul Gandhi has spread a plethora of misinformation on Rafale aircraft deal. First, he claimed that Modi government gave offset deals worth 30,000 crore to Reliance defense limited led by Anil Ambani. The defense ministry and Dassault Aviation (Owner Company of Rafale) repeatedly clarified that these government was not involved in offset deal at all, it was completely prerogative of Dassault Aviation. The total offset deal was worth 30,000 crore and for the Dassault Aviation has chosen more than 30 companies and 70 other are in the process. The contract awarded to Reliance Defense was less than 10 percent (3,000 crore) of total offset deal. So, Mr. Gandhi is repeatedly spreading lies over Rafale deal and reap political benefits out of it.
