It looks like Bollywood wishes to celebrate the spirit of nationalism way before the Republic Day. Movies that are unapologetic in their approach to nationalism are soon to hit the theatres from 11 January.

Be it ‘Uri’, based on the historic surgical strikes, or ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, based on the tumultuous tenure of PM Manmohan Singh, or even the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer ‘Thackeray’, based on the fiery nationalist Balasaheb Thackeray, 2019 is in for some real good cinema.

Also releasing on 11 January is a relatively unknown movie ‘Battalion 609‘, starring most of the television stars, including Shoaib Ibrahim. The movie has a rather ridiculous plot of the squabbling Indian and Pakistani forces solving a border dispute through a cricket match, as evident through the movie trailer.

The actor is known mostly for serials like ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ and ‘Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai’. Since he is essaying the role of an Indian Army officer in this movie, he has invited hatred from across the border. When a Pakistani fan objected to his role in the movie, being anti-Pakistani in her eyes, Shoaib replied to her as follows:-

Talk of thanklessness and you get this. Irrespective of the plot and the loopholes, it isn’t common to see people donning the Army uniform for a Bollywood movie. We have seen many Bollywood actors giving their best as Indian soldiers in various Bollywood movies.

Be it Nana Patekar as Major Pratap in ‘Prahar’, or Sunny Deol as Major Kuldeep Singh in ‘Border’ or even Hrithik Roshan as Captain Karan Shergill in ‘Lakshya’, it is once in a lifetime opportunity for any actor to don the Army uniform. However, for Shoaib Ibrahim, it is just a necessary evil in order to earn some quick bucks.

This is not, however, entirely surprising, given the vicious contempt that such left liberals have for our India. Be it film or television, the situation is the same. Can we forget the way Sushant Singh Rajput ranted when asked to comment on the issue of Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case in ICJ? Unsurprisingly, he had no qualms in supporting the left liberals in their vicious campaigns against the Sanatanis and the entire nation. As such, Shoaib Ibrahim was just being thankless in his bid to rise in Bollywood.

Curiously, Shoaib is the same person who married his co-star from ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ and the current winner of ‘Bigg Boss’, Faiza Ibrahim, known by her former name Dipika Kakar. A known left liberal, Dipika has not only converted to Islam post her marriage but also feels proud about it. It seems that mocking the nation and its culture is a favorite pastime for this couple. Perhaps they need some lessons from Naseeruddin Shah’s episode, whose recent attempts to cry intolerance took a severe beating.

To be honest, it is rather a time that we call out such people for their brazen hatred towards India. The likes of Shoaib Ibrahim should know that mocking India just for the sake of cheap publicity isn’t welcome, and he can’t get away with it that easy.
