The difference between the Congress culture and the BJP culture was clearly evident after the BJP’s loss in three states of the Hindi heartland. The President of the Madhya Pradesh BJP unit, Rakesh Singh, tendered his resignation on Thursday after the party’s defeat in the state elections. While giving his resignation, Rakesh Singh, took responsibility for the BJP’s defeat in the recently concluded state assembly polls.
However, the BJP chief Amit Shah refused to accept the resignation of Rakesh Singh from the post of BJP’s Madhya Pradesh unit President and asked him to work hard.

He also told Rakesh Singh to “prepare for the Lok Sabha elections with more enthusiasm and win for the party”.
Rakesh Singh’s resignation came after a day three-times Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave his resignation to Governor Anandiben Patel. He had also accepted ‘complete responsibility’ of BJP’s defeat in the state assembly polls. Chouhan told reporters outside Raj Bhavan, “I have submitted my resignation. The complete responsibility of (BJP’s) defeat (in MP) is only mine.”
Rakesh Singh after Chouhan’s statement had then tweeted, that this is the greatness of Shivraj Ji that he is taking responsibility for the defeat of the party, but every responsibility in the BJP is collective. If there are any shortcomings, then reflects on all of us. By overcoming it, we will perform well in the Lok Sabha elections.

After BJP’s defeat in Chhattisgarh, CM Raman Singh accepted the complete responsibility of the party’s defeat in the state. After resigning from the post of CM, he said, “I take the responsibility for this defeat because the poll was contested under my leadership. We will act as a strong Opposition and work for the development of the state.” Vasundhara Raje also accepted moral responsibility of the BJP’s defeat in Rajasthan.
In BJP, leaders take responsibility for the defeat while their Congress counterparts resort to blame-shifting and their usual ‘EVMs are rigged’ claims. They respect the mandate of people and accept defeat with all humility and grace, unlike, the Congress party which plays the victim card after its defeat and doesn’t even hesitate in blaming the EVMs and Election Commission of India. For BJP, the end does not justify the mean. However, for the Congress end justifies the mean and that’s they are more than willing to resort to any means in order to grab power. They created mythical Rafale scam, questioned EVMs, and ECI in the run-up to elections. But, once they won the elections now the world seems alright to them.
Amit Shah’s gesture to not to accept the resignation of Rakesh Singh shows his level of trust on party cadres. Such gestures would only boost the confidence of the party leaders, and they would work with more enthusiasm in the crucial upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
