Quantico famed Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra tied the knot with American Singer Nick Jonas on Saturday at Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace. Not only in acting, but Priyanka is also a pioneer in hypocrisy. There are a number of instances where she has proven her hypocrisy. She once said terrorism has no religion. But in an episode of Quantico, Chopra’s character, FBI agent Alex Parrish, uncovers a plot to launch a nuclear attack on American soil. She and her team discover that it was to take place during an India-Pakistan summit, over the Kashmir issue, in New York. They initially suspected a Pakistani student of masterminding it but Parrish finds a rudraksha on one of the terrorists, leading her to conclude that the terror attack was actually planned by Indian nationalists to frame Pakistan.
Many Indians on Twitter were outraged that a show with an Indian actress in it could paint a Hindu in a bad light and her evident hypocrisy. But this isn’t the first time that the show had insinuated that an Indians were potential terrorists. Chopra’s character on the show is constantly framed and under suspicion because of her skin colour, and because of her Indian heritage. Alex Parrish herself isn’t trusted because she comes from a country that is infamous for terror. Furthermore, Quantico has played dangerously with stereotypes in past episodes: the first season has hijab-clad women who are double agents. It makes sense that the show’s writers wanted it to be as controversial as possible so that it could have higher viewership, and it makes sense that Chopra gets as much screen-time while she still can.
Again on the eve of her wedding, Priyanka proved her ignorant and hypocritical nature, On one hand, she urged people on Diwali not to create pollution by burning firecrackers as she put out a video saying, “Please meri saans ko berok rakhiye. Diwali pe patakho ko skip kijiye,”(please keep my breathing unstoppable, skip the crackers this Diwali) added to this she said that the festival should be celebrated with “lights, ladoos and love, and not pollution.”
Instances of her hypocrisy are numerous. During an interview, she had bashed Bollywood for an unfair portrayal of women even thought it was Bollywood through which she gained wide spread acclaim, eventually becoming an international star.

Actually, it has become something very common with celebrities these days, they come out with a message on Diwali urging people not to light firecrackers and do their bit for the environment by not spreading pollution and going eco-friendly. They also validate their point by saying that it causes a lot of pollution, harms animals and causes troubles for patients. But, when it comes to them, they resort to their usual dubious stance as they celebrate their functions and events with fireworks and henceforth, they forget all that they preach.
