We’re no strangers to the rabid hate mongering that the so called standup comedian Kunal Kamra does under the garb of comedy. From insulting patriots to mocking right wing nationalism, to even defending Islamic radicalism, he is the classic stereotype of a typical Indian liberal.
The #MeToo campaign also exposed another facet of his personality: that of a shameless hypocrite as he defended the AIB team, especially Utsav Chakraborty, who was accused by standup comedian Mahima Kukreja of sexually harassing her and sending her vulgar pictures.
However, what he probably forgot was a simple fact: there is a limit to everything. The unfunny insults that he interprets as humor backfired, when in a bit old video, which surfaced on Facebook, a disgruntled spectator not only roasted his accomplice for making obscene remarks about Hindu deities, but also forced Kunal Kamra to profusely apologize for the blunder, when he attempted to make a defense for his accomplice.
It all started on 15th April 2018, when Canvas Laugh Club, Mumbai hosted a show of Masoom Rajwani, standup comedian and the accomplice of Kunal Kamra. In a bid to make the audience laugh hysterically, Masoom went on the offensive, making extremely obscene remarks at the Hindu deities, as objected to in the video as follows:-
This is not however the first time that Kunal Kamra has been accused of either supporting such Sanatan phobic material or himself making such insults on stage. An unequivocal leftist, who openly expresses his hatred for the Indian Army, Kunal Kamra’s Facebook as well as Twitter account, is replete with anti national, anti Sanatan tweets. Just recently, he posted the following on Twitter, which speaks volumes of his allegiance to a specific ideology:-
Present ~ Mughal Sarai Stn is renamed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Stn & Allahabad is renamed to Prayagraj
Future ~ India is renamed to BJP

Interestingly, Kunal Kamra was not only present at the event, but was also equally supportive of Masoom’s views. However, one man, who was present in the audience, could not take this lying down. Local BJP leader Paras Rajput, who was offended by the vicious content being passed off as humor at the show, not only interrupted the show, but also filed a police complaint against the personnel involved with the show.
Soon enough, Kunal Kamra, as is his nature, came to the rescue of Masoom Rajwani. In the video, he can be seen defending Masoom for his crude jokes on Hindu deities. He even tried to mock Paras, who was shooting the video, which was of no use, since the people who encircled him shot back at him for his rude approach. When even Paras’ wife, as shown in the video, castigated him for his vicious approach, asking if he could do the same against minorities, Kunal was ultimately forced to apologize.
However, this is not entirely surprising. There has been practically no protest against the vicious, anti Hindu content of left liberal comedians like Kunal Kamra. This hasn’t just given them confidence, but has also filled them with a false notion, that they can do get away with these things very easily. Probably Kunal, a self declared liberal, forgot this wise quote from Abraham Lincoln, ‘You can fool some people all the time, you can fool all the people for some time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.’
