On Friday, PM Modi launched a blistering attack on the Congress Party leader Shashi Tharoor over ‘chai wala’ (Tea seller) remark. He said that the Congress party is still not able to digest the fact that a chai wala had become the prime minister of the country. He said, “These people still have not come to terms that I am the PM. It has been nearly four and a half years. They are still crying: How can a ‘chai wala’ become the PM? Now they say a ‘chai wala’ became PM because of one great person.”

PM Modi also said, “Congress party ko neend nahi aa rahi hai ki ye hamare parivaar ki virasat, hamari rajgaddi ko ye chai wala kaise chura le gaya.” He also challenged the Congress party to install a non-Gandhi as the party chief and then he will accept the fact that he became the PM due to Nehru’s legacy. PM Modi said, “I want to challenge them, let some good leader of Congress outside of the family become the party president for five years, then I will say that Nehru ji really created a truly democratic system there.”

PM Modi was addressing a rally in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh ahead of the second phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2018 on November 20.

On 14 November, while praising India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his birthday anniversary, senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor had said, “If today we have a ‘chaiwala’ as Prime Minister, it’s because Nehru ji made it possible to create the institutional structures through which any Indian can aspire to rise to the highest office in the land.”

Earlier also similar statements were made by the Congress leaders. The narrow mentality of the Congress party leaders is no hidden secret. In July, Mallikarjun Kharge had said that a “chaiwala” could become PM of the country because the party preserved democracy. He had said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been asking, at every function, about what the Congress has done for the country in the past 70 years. A chaiwala like him (Modi) could become prime minister because we preserved democracy.”

The statements of Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor and Mallikarjun Kharge show the true character of the Congress party and its leaders. For them, democracy is for the Congress, by the Congress, of the Congress. Probably, they believe the people and the constitution played no role in preserving democracy. Indian democracy is running just because of the ‘benevolence’ and ‘grace’ of the Congress party and one of its tallest leader. And we should all be thankful to them.

The Congress party and its leaders consider India to be their fiefdom. Their mentality is similar to the Britishers who justified their rule in India on the pretext of civilizing India. They claimed that it is the white man’s burden to civilize Indians and that’s why their rule in India is justified. Britishers left India in 1947 but the Congress inherited their mentality. A Congressman thinks that it is their moral obligation to rule India forever and there is no alternative (TINA) to its rule.
