As per latest reports, a Muslim cleric identified as Imran has been arrested by the Delhi Police under the Arms Act after a live bullet was seized from him during checking when he went to meet the Delhi chief minister, Kejriwal yesterday morning.

Imran told the police that he found the bullet in a donation box of a mosque, kept it in his wallet and then forgot about it. The bullet was seized during checking before Imran was to meet the Delhi chief minister at his house. The police have booked him under the Arms Act and the matter is being investigated by the police.

As it turns out, he was one of the Muslim clerics who had gone to the Chief Minister’s residence to request him to increase the salary by Waqf Board. The way Imran has told the police about having found the bullets in the donation box of a mosque calls for a thorough investigation into the matter in order to find out the true source of these live bullets and those who are involved in this. Carrying live bullets ,allegedly found in a donation box of a Mosque does give rise to suspicions of a communal angle to the entire incident, which must not be taken lightly.

This comes at the heels of a chilli powder attack on the Delhi chief minister. Chief minister Kejriwal was ‘attacked’ by a person while entering the Secretariat, who threw a pouch of chilli powder at him. Soon, the AAP started blowing it out of proportion. It did not take long for Kejriwal’s sycophants to make absurd comparisons and what came as a big surprise was the fact that some of his followers compared the chilli powder attack to the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. The AAP did not stop here and some of its leaders went on to forge bizzare connections between the ‘attacker’ and BJP.

However, things really went over the top when the deputy chief minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, organized a special session in order to discuss the implications of the attack on the Delhi chief minister. To quote his press brief, “The special session of the assembly shall be organized from Monday onwards. In this there will be a discussion on the chilli powder attack on our chief minister and the subsequent stand of Delhi Police. Also we shall discuss the collusion of EC with BJP in removing the names of 30 lakh voters.” Apart from this, in a letter addressed to CM Kejriwal, a large number of AAP MLAs asked him to revoke the compensation that would be allotted to the Delhi Police martyrs, because they allegedly didn’t help the CM during the attack. It is too insensitive even to think on such vindictive lines. The AAP in its desperate attempt to make petty political gains has crossed all limits of decency.
