It’s quite saddening to know that how certain sections of the society claiming to be revolutionaries have actually been plotting the demise of our country. Filling a chargesheet in Elgar Parishad case, the Pune Police have claimed that Maoists were planning to assassinate PM Modi as they procured arms and ammunition from them. The police cited several documents seized from the Maoist leaders to make the claim on PM Modi’s assassination plan.

The accused who have been held by the police in the assassination case of PM Modi are Rona Wilson, Surendra Gadling, Shoma Sen, Mahesh Raut and Sudhir Dhawale. They have been chargesheeted with Unlawful Activities Prevention Act under the Indian Penal Code.

In the 5,000 page chargesheet that was filed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Shivaji Pawar in the court of additional sessions judge KD Vadhane, stated that the accused were directly involved in promoting propaganda of the banned Maoist outfit – Communist Party of India (Maoist) and were planning to overthrow the NDA government. With the rising popularity of PM Modi the opposition has stooped to planning his assassination.

The chargesheet also claimed “It is the policy of the CPI (Maoists) to mobilize Dalit community’s sentiments and provoke them to take violent path against the system. As a part of this strategy, Sudhir Dhavale and other members of Kabir Kala Manch (KKM, a cultural group) spread hatred by giving inciting speeches, presenting distorted history and staging provocative skits and songs.”

Furthermore, on the directions of CPI (Maoists) Dhavale and KKM, under the banner of Bhima-Koregaon Shaurya Din Prerana Abhiyan, galvanised Dalit organisations and organised Elgar Parishad on December 31, the charge sheet said “During the conclave, inciting speeches were made; inflammatory songs and street plays were played…all these things aggravated the violence on January 1, 2018 at Bhima Koregaon (in Pune district) during 200th commemoration of Bhima Koregaon battle.”

The accused chargesheeted in the case have had a history of having their links with Maoist troops and have played crucial role in spreading their urban network. According to sources from the Ministry of Home Affairs whose information is based on reports from the national security agencies, traces of activities of Urban Naxals have been found in 18 states of the country.

Recently in his rally at Chhattisgarh, PM Modi hitting on Urban Maoists said, “Urban Maoists live in air-conditioned surroundings, move around in big cars and their children study abroad, but they ruin the lives of our poor Adivasi youth here through remote control. Why is Congress supporting these Urban Maoists?”

He urged the people of Bastar to ‘teach a fitting lesson to the Congress leaders’.

Earlier in the month of September, the Supreme Court had rejected the plea for investigation by Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the Bhima Koregaon case as it maintained that the accused did not have a say in which investigation agency should probe the case.

Well it is quiet disheartening to note that how certain people in our society are working towards creating a ruckus and disharmony in the country in the name of ‘political dissent’ and are resorting to unlawful activities. The most unfortunate part is the fact that these people are indulging the youth from various institutions and are molding their mind, against their own country!
